Toyota has partially improved its very popular "Hiace" series. Safety and comfort have been significantly enhanced across all types: van, wagon, and commuter. Let's check the key improvement points.

The "Toyota Safety Sense" has evolved!

Toyota's advanced preventive safety package "Toyota Safety Sense" has further evolved. The main feature, "Pre-Collision Safety (PCS)," now detects not only vehicles and pedestrians but also bicycles and, during the day, motorcycles. The detection performance at intersections has also improved, supporting accident avoidance in a wider range of scenarios.

Additionally, the accuracy of the Lane Departure Alert and Road Sign Assist has also improved. It automatically reads traffic signs and displays them in the meter to alert the driver. Furthermore, it is equipped with radar cruise control with full-speed tracking capability (without stop-and-hold). It supports driving with the just-right following distance, from traffic jams to high-speed driving.

The interior has eliminated the conventional 1DIN radio and adopted a new 8-inch display audio. The operability and appearance around the instrument panel have been revamped, resulting in a smarter usage experience. Depending on the grade, features such as a digital inner mirror and a panoramic view monitor can also be equipped for visibility support.

Significant improvements in comfort and safety.

This update is common across all models of the van, wagon, and commuter. Similar enhancements in equipment have also been implemented for the Welcab and manufacturer-completed special vehicles. Additionally, some specifications have been updated, including the addition of a side table for the bed kit.

The price range is approximately 2.86 to 4.68 million yen, representing an increase of about 200,000 to 400,000 yen compared to previous models. Nevertheless, as mentioned earlier, the improvements in comfort and safety are beyond expectations.
