The time spent on a bicycle is free and refreshing. However, many people may have experienced pain from the pedals hitting their feet in narrow bike parking areas or while walking. (The bicycle-loving author is one of them.) In other words, wouldn’t detachable pedals be a good idea...?

The author, a bicycle enthusiast, was intrigued by the "Pop-Off Pedal." As the name suggests, it can be detached, and what's surprising is that it can be done almost instantly with one hand and without any tools.

You simply push to attach it, and when removing, you just pinch it with your fingers, making for a straightforward operation. By removing the pedals, the width of the bicycle becomes significantly more compact. The feeling of constriction in the entrance or hallway is reduced, and it will definitely make loading it into a car or transporting it by train much smoother.

That said, what concerns some is safety. "Is it really okay that it comes off that easily?" and "Will it detach while riding?" The answer to these concerns is the double-lock structure that can only be detached by hand, preventing accidental release by foot. With the latches positioned diagonally in two places, malfunction will not occur unless they operate simultaneously.

It seems they have also passed high load tests based on ISO-4210 (the international standard for bicycle durability). Even after 100,000 rotations, no performance degradation was observed, and it's designed with environments that experience strong impacts, such as MTB and BMX, in mind.

By removing the pedals, it becomes more difficult to ride, providing an anti-theft effect. If you store the removed pedals in a dedicated seat bag, it looks smart whether you're transporting it by train or car. I'm truly impressed by the attention to detail.
