[Winter Camping] Prepare for invisible dangers! Choose a carbon monoxide alarm based on "sensor accuracy"

Winter camping and sleeping in cars, wrapped in fresh air and the warmth of bonfires and stoves, is a special time that cannot be experienced in other seasons. To fully enjoy that pleasant moment, you want to keep a carbon monoxide alarm close by. If you are going to choose one, you should prioritize sensor accuracy!

Equipped with high-precision sensors made in Japan

Elecom has newly released the "NESTOUT Carbon Monoxide Alarm." The foundation of trust for this alarm lies in the sensors it is equipped with. It uses high-performance sensors made in Japan by Figaro Engineering, which boasts world-leading production levels of gas sensors, ensuring strong resistance to changes in environmental humidity and high stability that makes it less likely to react erroneously to gases other than carbon monoxide. This provides a different level of安心感 (peace of mind).

The lifespan is long, lasting 10 years, and it undergoes thorough sensitivity adjustments and display value inspections using actual carbon monoxide for all mass-produced units. Furthermore, it is equipped with a self-diagnosis function that detects sensor failures and alerts the user, addressing the weakness of carbon monoxide alarms, which can be hard to notice even when they are malfunctioning. Having a reliable device monitoring the invisible state of the air allows for安心 (peace of mind) even during the cold winter nights when using heating.

It is packed with usability features for outdoor use. The power source is rechargeable via USB Type-C, so even if the battery runs out during camping, it can be quickly recharged with a mobile battery, eliminating the hassle of buying more dry batteries. It operates for about 5 days on a full charge.

The main unit is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance, easily handling dust, rain, and humidity inside a tent. It is equipped with an easily viewable LCD screen with a backlight for outdoor use, and the alarm volume can be adjusted to three levels: loud, soft, or mute. Using the included strap with a carabiner, it can be attached to a bag or tent hook for easy carrying and setup.

The ability to choose according to use is also a point of interest. The "3in1 model" is a multifunctional type that includes a carbon monoxide alarm along with a thermometer and hygrometer. When powered on, it begins detecting CO while simultaneously displaying temperature and humidity, allowing for quick understanding of the environment inside a tent or vehicle. It also features a high-precision correction function that adjusts for temperature, aging deterioration, and battery voltage fluctuations, and even has a foldable stand for setup on the back.

The "BASIC model" is a simple type focused on carbon monoxide detection. It starts CO detection just by turning on the power, making it sufficiently effective for those who already own an alarm to use as a second unit.
