【With your dog】 Three resort outings you can enjoy with your dog this autumn.

More pet-friendly hotels and cottages are increasing, and I'm also curious about the latest outing spots. Therefore, I selected three attractive accommodations that have recently opened, along with seasonal events.

At "Awaji Island Suion," both dogs and their owners can have their hearts filled together

In Awaji Island, Goshiki Town, Hyogo Prefecture, about 90 minutes from Osaka, the hot spring dog resort "Awaji Island Suion" has opened. Play, relax, and rest—spend all your time with your beloved dog more freely and luxuriously. Through six fulfilling dog-friendly services, you can enjoy a high-quality private stay where both your dog and you can have your hearts filled together.

Each building is equipped with a private pool. In the remaining heat of summer, it serves as an active space where you can play freely, and in winter, you can enjoy cooling down after a sauna, allowing for unique experiences that differ with each season. The design gradually changes in water depth, making it enjoyable for everyone from small children to adults, in their own style.

Each building has one of the largest private dog runs in the Awaji Island area, exceeding about 300 square meters, with a dedicated space laid with natural grass that's gentle on your dog's paws, allowing them to run around freely without worrying about the surroundings.

You can watch your dog running around or play with them. It seems you can enjoy a dog-first stay, relaxing to your heart's content while sharing time with your dog right next to you.

The spacious guest rooms make accommodations feel comfortable even with large dogs, designed with minimal steps for the comfort of your dog. It's also safe for small dogs and senior dogs.

The guest rooms "Kan -KAN-" and "Sora -SORA-" are limited to two buildings, and there is also a private sauna adjacent to the guest room's natural hot spring. In the guest room sauna, you can experience "Löyly" while being enveloped in the scent of aromatherapy. After warming your body and mind in the sauna, you can relax slowly in the guest room's natural hot spring, allowing pet owners to enjoy luxurious moments of relaxation.

North Karuizawa "Asama Sorayama" for a classic concert with your dog

North Karuizawa's whole-villa rental resort "Asama Sorayama" (Kuzanbo) will host the "Asama Sorayama presents Autumn Leaves Concert Enjoyed with Your Dog" by dog-loving violinist Momoko Arai and others.

It will be held on October 17 and 18, 2026, over a weekend for two days at the facility's restaurant "Tenkotei Dining." This year marks the 4th edition, featuring special experiences such as dog yoga, dog massage, and dog photo sessions, allowing both humans and dogs to relax together.

The terrace of the restaurant "Tenkotei Dining," where you can feel the pleasant autumn breeze in an open space. In front of the magnificent Mount Asama, where you can sense the beginning of autumn colors, you can quietly enjoy music, sing together, and spend quality time with your dog. Additionally, in the “Dog Yoga Experience in the Forest” (held only on the 18th), there will be a 45-minute yoga session to enjoy with your beloved dog, surrounded by the clear air and magnificent views of Mt. Asama. Participants will gently touch their dogs, make eye contact, and practice breathing and simple poses while snuggling close together.

Other experiential events include the “Nordic Dog Massage Experience in the Forest” (held only on the 17th), “Nose Work Experience in the Forest” (held only on the 18th), “Halloween Dog Photo Session in the Forest” (held on both the 17th and 18th), and “Forest Minimal Market & Dog Run Open House” (held on both the 17th and 18th).

Enjoy the vast nature at the “Tateshina Tokyu Hotel” cottage

Within “Tateshina Tokyu Resort Town”, the independent cottages at the historic classic resort hotel “Tateshina Tokyu Hotel”, with over 40 years of history, have undergone renovations for 10 out of the 20 available. These are now pet-welcoming cottages.

While retaining the classic charm of the hotel, these modern spaces allow families, along with their dogs, to relax both mentally and physically. There are also ample pet amenities to ensure a worry-free travel experience.

The cottage building features a dog run exclusively for guests, boasting an area of about 220㎡. Even on sunny days, the surrounding trees provide shade, helping to reduce your dog's fatigue (there is also a separate dog run on the hotel grounds divided for large and small dogs).

You can enjoy a refreshing morning walk by the pond or visit a trekking course with open views from the observation deck. Beyond the dog run, there are many quiet and nature-rich places in town where you can stroll with your dog.

For lunch and tea time, you can enjoy outdoor seating at the lounge terrace or at the hot dog cafe, and in the evening, you can dine with your dog at the barbecue area.

The water in Tateshina is a blessing from the forest nurtured by the conservation activities of the vast larch forest, with only one-sixth the amount of chlorine added compared to Nagano city; it is a soft water suitable for baby food, mild and easy on the palate (hardness 14mg/L, pH 7.4). It seems safe for your dog to drink as well. I want to quench my dog's thirst with the delicious water of Tateshina.
