【Onsen Diner】 Revisit to Nomekoi-yu in Tanbalyama Village, Yamanashi Prefecture! "Nomekoi Green Curry" new menu, fully satisfying

The author, who loves diner menus at day-use hot springs. Upon learning that a new menu was introduced at one of my favorite hot springs, Tanbalyama Village's "Tanbalyama Onsen Nomekoi-yu," I decided to drive there to eat.

Tamba-yama Village, Yamanashi Prefecture "Nomekoi-yu" Revisited

The dining room, which is attached to the day-use hot springs, is mostly used by hot spring guests. Perhaps because of this, it is often relatively spacious for dining, making it less likely to feel rushed. I often stop by on my drives, and the meal enjoyed after a break at the hot spring is exceptional.

The "Nomekoi-yu" I visited that day is actually a day-use hot spring I had visited before. It is located inside "Road Station Taba-yama," and I like the spacious bath and the calm atmosphere.
The water is a simple sulfur spring, and one of its characteristics is that your skin becomes smooth after bathing. This time, I learned on social media that "Nomekoi Green Curry" (1200 yen) was added as a new menu item in the dining room, and I came to enjoy that flavor.

Subtly Delicious! Nomekoi-yu's Curry

Nomekoi-yu's curry may seem like an ordinary curry, but it is rich in flavor, and I also love that it comes with a salad by default. The image above is from my previous visit when I had the cutlet curry.

I have high expectations for the new menu item, green curry.

It was truly exquisite! The new menu "Green Curry" at Nomekoi-yu

wafts an ethnic aroma in the relaxing dining area, and finally, I came face to face with the green curry. The ingredients include bamboo shoots, pork, and onions. The scent of coconut milk typical of green curry is present alongside the aroma of nam pla.
In addition to the crunchy texture of the bamboo shoots, the flavors of herbs and coconut milk spread pleasantly. While the spiciness is mild, it still provides a nice kick. The meat has been simmered until the pork belly cartilage (?) is tender, adding thickness and richness to the soupy green curry.

Maintaining the authentic aspects of green curry while finishing it off with a cafeteria-style taste is impressive! It turned out to be a high-quality and very satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal.

The water level at Lake Okutama, which had been low, is showing signs of recovery; looking forward to summer.

Near the border of Tanbalyama Village and Okutama Town, by Lake Okutama. This area became a topic of discussion due to the severe water shortage at the beginning of the year, where there was almost no water. The green surface of the lake is visible, and although the water storage rate seems low at 47.1%, there appears to be signs of recovery.
During a drive to visit my favorite diner, I was able to once again feel the resilience and beauty of nature. Despite the impact of the drought, I want to observe the changes in nature, which humans cannot control, from a distance without rushing.

For summer leisure, how about enjoying green curry at the diner of "Tanbalyama Onsen Nomekoi-yu" during a drive, and checking out the state of Okutama on the way back?
