Honestly, it's a bit scary to walk around with just a magnet holding my smartphone to my chest. Especially when it comes to hiking or cycling, I want to consider the worst-case scenario in case it accidentally comes loose. By connecting the smartphone to the mount, even if I slip while shooting, I can reduce the risk of dropping it.
