What’s the performance of Workman’s “Skill Inner Socks” worn over regular socks? Checking on a snowy walk with my beloved dog

During a snow playtime with my dog, my toes became completely cold. Therefore, I decided to try Workman's “Inner Socks.” They say they excel in windproofing, heat retention, and breathability, but is their performance real?

Wearing the Workman "Skill Inner Socks" layered over my usual socks

My beloved dog, who loves playing in the snow, started making a fuss the moment he looked out the window! On this day, there was a heavy snowstorm in the Kanto region, which only happens a few times a year, and he seemed unable to wait to play.

The author follows his dog, who is charging ahead in the snow. Although I had worn rubber boots, the coldness was so intense that I was losing sensation in my toes.
So, I prepared in advance with Workman's "Skill Inner Socks." Using breathable material "SKILL," it boasts excellent windproof, thermal insulation, and moisture permeability, so I decided to test its performance on snowy paths.

The wearing method is simple; just layer it over your socks. I was already wearing fairly thick socks, but will layer it over them. Since the Skill Inner Socks are made of smooth material, I was able to put them on easily.
Skill Inner Socks can be worn together with rubber boots without feeling any tightness. Compared to just wearing socks, there is a slight thickness, but it's very comfortable. This time, to check the cold protection performance, I tried using "Skill Inner Socks" only on my right foot.

"Skill Inner Socks" do not get too hot and do not cause stuffiness.

Continuing to play in the snow with my dog while wearing the layered sock on just one foot! It felt like the right foot, wearing "Skill Inner Socks," was wrapped in a blanket, providing a higher level of warmth.
My dog seemed to be having a lot of fun playing, but considering their health, I decided to wrap it up after about 10 minutes. I persuaded my dog, who still wanted to play, to leave the park.

Walking on the snowless concrete, the right foot I was wearing felt somewhat fluffy. This must be due to the thickness of the "Skill Inner Socks." The rubber boots have a hard sole, which can make walking a bit difficult, but the comfort of walking improved significantly.
After that, I entrusted my dog’s care to my family and started shoveling snow in front of my house. After about 30 minutes of wearing them, the warmth between the right and left feet was dramatically different. The left foot, not wearing the layered socks, was cold, especially in the toes, feeling painful, while the right foot, wearing Skill Inner Socks, was gently warm and protected from cold air.

What I particularly liked was that it doesn’t get too hot. Until now, when going out in the middle of winter, I used to stick heat packs for socks, but they would get too hot, causing sweating and stuffiness. Skill Inner Socks don’t get that hot, and whether it’s due to excellent moisture permeability or not, they remain comfortable for long periods of wear without becoming stuffy.

Good windproofing! No problem taking them off indoors

On this day, I commuted by bicycle and tried wearing them inside my sneakers. Although I was concerned about the fit since sneakers are tighter than rain boots, I was able to pedal without discomfort, feeling like I was wearing thick socks. The windproofing is excellent and protects against the chill while cycling. It's also helpful that they can be folded compactly, so I can take them off and put them in my bag when I arrive at the office.

Workman's "Skill Inner Socks" seem like they'll make outdoor activities on cold days much more enjoyable.
