The new trail running shoes "SYLAN 2" from Arc'teryx, which continues to lead the evolution of outdoor products. Developed based on practical feedback from athletes, this model further pursues lightweight design and propulsion from its predecessor, which focused on speed and efficiency.

A midsole structure that balances propulsion and stability

Supporting a smooth ride on mountain trails is the meticulously calculated midsole. The rocker midsole, made of high-rebound special foam, converts the energy from landing to takeoff into forward momentum.

In the "SYLAN 2," the rocker shape is limited to the forefoot only, while the heel shape has been updated. This allows the foot to sink deeper, enhancing stability on uneven terrain. Additionally, a new structure combining a carbon fiber composite plate and TPEE outer layer foam also helps reduce wobbling on undulating surfaces.

A comfortable upper created by ultra-light materials and a special shape knit

To concentrate on running, a sense of unity between the foot and the shoe is essential. The upper part utilizes a specially shaped jacquard knit made from an ultra-light blend of nylon, TPU, and TPE, achieving both lightness and strength. By adding a TPU film, durability and protective performance have also been enhanced, protecting the foot from tree branches and rocky surfaces.

While inheriting the same knit color structure as the original model, the tongue features an updated flat knit design. The flat knit tongue securely holds the foot in place, preventing uncomfortable shifting during runs. High breathability is also ensured, making the inside of the shoe less likely to become stuffy during intense exercise, providing a comfortable fit.

Mud-splashing! A reliable grip outsole

In trails that change their expressions depending on the weather and environment, the performance of the outsole influences the quality of the run. Therefore, we adopted Vibram Megagrip with Litebase technology to reduce weight even by 1g. This structure demonstrates outstanding durability and grip on various surface conditions.

With a sole pattern featuring lugs set at two different heights of 4.5mm and 3.5mm, it effectively expels excess mud even on muddy paths, maintaining optimal traction at all times. It will securely grip the ground, whether on slippery steep climbs or downhill sections that allow for easy acceleration.

Specialized in speed and efficiency, lightweight to meet the needs of runners

For runners aiming to shorten their times, the weight of the shoes is paramount. "SYLAN 2" reflects the practical feedback from athletes and has undergone thorough weight reduction.

We have succeeded in reducing weight by 20g from the previous model, significantly alleviating the burden on the legs during long-distance runs. Weighing about 268g for the men's model and about 231g for the women's model, it is designed to minimize fatigue accumulation even in harsh conditions where one maintains a high pace all day long.

The "SYLAN 2" achieves high propulsion and stability through lightweight design and the use of a carbon fiber composite plate. It remains stable even on rugged trails and strongly supports a high-paced run. Recommended for runners who want to traverse mountains more comfortably while aiming to set personal bests.
