【Defeating May Blues】Perfect for the weekend after Golden Week! Three pool resorts that pamper adults
During the holiday season, family schedules and crowds often take precedence, and your own time tends to be put on the back burner. That's why, for the next holiday, why not choose a place where you can indulge a little and enjoy at your own pace? Here are three domestic resorts with pools where you can quietly savor the extraordinary.
【BOTANICAL POOL CLUB】70 minutes from the city center. A pool event for adults, wrapped in the winds and sounds of early summer

“I want to go out this weekend too, but crowds and traffic might be a bit tiring.” The perfect place for those feelings after Golden Week is the pool club hotel BOTANICAL POOL CLUB (BPC) in Kyonan Town, Chiba.

What especially catches my interest is the one-day-only event “EARLY SUMMER SPLASH” happening on May 18. It’s a pool event packed with things that adults can truly enjoy while feeling the early summer breeze. Two pools, saunas with different atmospheres, carefully crafted beers, limited edition sandwiches, and live music from a DJ. It has everything you need for summer!

What personally appeals to me is the convenience of being 90 minutes from Shibuya. This distance allows for a getaway that feels extraordinary in a day, which is ideal for busy adults. I want to let go of the rush and change my mood a bit—it's an attractive way to spend the weekend.

Of course, the food and drink selections are outstanding. Special items like the world-renowned craft beer from “Mikkeller Tokyo,” the cocktail bar “TENCUPS” that evokes a sense of travel, and sandwiches from “TUTU” filled with luxurious ingredients. Spending a day in early summer at BPC is an event I want to mark on my calendar right now.

Hot springs and pools, enjoy both at the 【Beppu Onsen Suginoi Hotel】

"For our next travel destination, we want a place where we can play together as a family and truly relax." With such conditions in mind, we found the "Suginoi Hotel" in Beppu Onsen. We were attracted by its charming atmosphere as a hot spring area and the thorough array of entertainment options.

This hotel will open a summer-only indoor amusement pool called "Aqua Beat" from May 31. The appeal lies in the wave pool, multiple slides, and a shallow kids area that even small children can enjoy, making it a great option for rainy days.

After plenty of playtime, you can thoroughly relax in the "Tana-yu" overlooking the sea or the "Chuu-yu," which gives the sensation of being suspended in mid-air. The scale and views of the hot springs are indeed unique strengths of Beppu.

All accommodations are offered in buffet style, which is also a nice point as there are three different restaurants to choose from. Since all the enjoyable activities can be completed within the hotel, it allows for a relaxed stay without the rush of moving around.
Family trips are equally important for both enjoyment and "ease of living." The Suginoi Hotel has the luxury to satisfy both of these needs.

You can enjoy both the night pool and the summer festival at the 【Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay Maihama】

If you want to fully enjoy the hotel until nightfall, the place to focus on is the "Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay" located in Maihama. It has good access from the city and is positioned near the Disney Resort, while overflowing with resort-like characteristics.

The summer-only outdoor pool "Grand Bleu," which opens on July 1, will offer not only fun water play while feeling the refreshing breeze but also plans for night pool operations in the evening. The magical water surface illuminated by lights, the relaxing flowing music, and the beautiful sunset—such arrangements will make summer nights particularly special.
In August, a "Summer Night Festival" will also be held in the outdoor grassy area of the same property. It seems that there will be bon dances, food stalls, and games involving water play, making it look like a fun experience that can bring adults back to their childhood. I felt that such initiatives, which add a playful touch to the hotel stay, are truly the charm unique to the Maihama area.

Of course, there’s no neglect in meals or accommodations either. With over 100 types of breakfast buffet, restaurant privileges for pool users, and discounts during dinner, there are thoughtful considerations for adults. The guest rooms offer views of Tokyo Bay, making special moments even more comfortable.

Not just "Hotel Stay = Rest," but spending time while balancing "Play" and "Healing." I found the Grand Nikko Tokyo Bay to be a very attractive option as a place that fulfills that desire.

I want to heal my fatigue with a relaxing weekend stay
The three carefully selected resorts this time all offer a sense of luxury and space that only adults can appreciate, all within the theme of playing in the pool. When searching for travel destinations, it's easy to seek novelty or distance, but sometimes the places not chosen simply because you've never been may actually resonate perfectly with your current self. How about choosing a different perspective this summer and considering how to spend your time off?
