【Camping Car Overnight Stay】Crying over the long queue but pleasantly surprised! Satisfying meals from local offal shops and butcheries

One day, I suddenly decided to embark on a camping trip while enjoying takeout gourmet food. I set out with a main destination of a stew shop I found on YouTube, but had to change my plans due to an unexpectedly long line. However, this change of plans led to a result where I indulged in gourmet food that exceeded my expectations.

The trigger for the trip was a cooked offal shop I found on YouTube

I usually watch videos that capture the behind-the-scenes of restaurants to gather information about spots, and for this trip, the plan was to enjoy takeout from the cooked offal shop I found in a video and spend the night in the car. As I headed towards the cooked offal shop, I only picked up some additional ingredients with takeout in mind, aside from the main cooked offal.

However, upon arrival, despite it being a weekday, there was an outrageous line, and even though it was takeout, I had no idea how long it would take… I reluctantly decided to skip it and think of another plan.

Suddenly needing to buy groceries, I moved to a nearby supermarket. While trying to buy additional ingredients, I discovered a beautiful sushi pack that had an extraordinary vibe. It seemed to have some rare toppings and real tuna, so I instantly added it to my cart! When combined with the steak I had pre-purchased, it looked like it was going to be quite a luxurious menu.

Furthermore, just as I was about to leave the store and head to the campsite, I stumbled upon a meat shop with a serious-looking storefront and a sign saying "Offal." Feeling the atmosphere of a renowned shop, I went inside, where fresh-looking meat was displayed, and when I asked if they had cooked offal, they did. I purchased it right away and headed to the accommodation with excitement.

As a result of taking a route I wouldn't have normally traveled, I was able to see landscapes I had never known before. Although unexpected things happened that altered the plan, I feel like it's heading in a positive direction.

Having safely arrived, I quickly set up camp. The reason I insisted on takeout this time was that I didn’t want to put too much effort into various things, and car camping, with its easy setup and takedown, is very suitable for casually enjoying camping.

I will enjoy the offal stew that I just bought earlier. It's very delicious, with no heaviness or odor, making it easy to eat. It also contains plenty of root vegetables, adding to its volume, and has become a great snack. Upon later investigation, it turns out this place has become a favorite among campers, with many people buying fresh meat to enjoy grilled offal. Next time, I definitely want to enjoy grilled offal.

Next up is the sushi that had an unusual atmosphere at the supermarket. I particularly want to try the bluefin tuna and natural flatfish. The bluefin tuna is not watery or smelly; it's very good tuna. What surprised me was the natural flatfish, which has a crunchy and fresh texture unique to fresh fish. Without exaggeration, I can say it’s the best tasting sushi pack I’ve eaten so far!

The supermarket Maruetsu, where I purchased this sushi pack, was originally established in Saitama Prefecture as a fresh fish shop called "Uoetsu Shoten." It seems that buyers go to Toyosu Market to purchase fresh fish, which is then processed in-store and offered as sushi and other products. I wasn't aware of Maruetsu as there's none in my neighborhood, but I intend to stop by if I find one during future camping trips.

As night falls, I will grill steak over the campfire. The meat is steak that I purchased at a shopping mall I happened to visit, and although it’s A5 grade, it was sold at a low price, so I bought it. Various cuts of A5 grade meat were lined up, and this was also a product that gave off an unusual atmosphere on the display shelf.

I carefully adjust the heat to avoid overcooking it. I tend to be quite fearful of overcooking meat, so I quickly sear it and transfer it to a plate.

Taking a bite, I’m very satisfied with the perfect degree of doneness and flavor as the fat bursts out. It’s quite rich in flavor, so this size was just right. I leisurely enjoyed the camp night with wine.

It was another trip that didn’t go as planned, but there were many unexpected discoveries, making it a day where I could see the positive side. The attractive products in a corner of the supermarket and local shops that offer "discoveries you won't know until you go" reaffirmed the charm of traveling. I plan to go out to various places without fearing failure whenever I feel like it.
