【Daiso】Will it be more comfortable if the gap for the neck is filled!? Review of the 165 yen "Car Neck Cushion"

Can Daiso's 165 yen cushion solve the issue of where to put your neck during long drives? I will review the real changes regarding this common issue, even in luxury cars.

The seat is comfortable, but my neck feels uneasy when

during long-distance travel or while stuck in traffic, I tend to notice neck fatigue as the driving time extends. I am quite satisfied with the comfort of our car's seats (Toyota Alphard). The seat base is firm, making it less tiring to sit for long periods. However, as the driving time increases, my neck starts to feel tired.
The headrest is a safety device that protects the neck in case of an accident. Perhaps because of this, a subtle gap forms at the back of my neck. When I try to adjust my head to the headrest, my lower back lifts slightly, and conversely, when I sit deeper, it feels like my neck doesn't have enough support.

Even with adjustments to the headrest position, it doesn't fully fill the gap, and I continued to feel the sensation of "just a little bit uneasy". This happens during traffic jams or when I want to take a quick break in a parking lot. This slight misalignment accumulates in a subtle way. Probably, any car model will have a similar sense of unease.

A neck cushion I found at Daiso for 165 yen

So, I'm going to try Daiso's "car neck cushion." At first, I didn't have much expectation, but the moment I saw it in the store, I felt, "It seems like it will fit that gap perfectly."
The cushion is the type that is固定するタイプ with a rubber band on the headrest. The size is not too large, and the design does not significantly change the atmosphere inside the car. It seems that recently there has been an increase in high-functioning car cushions, and I would like to try those as well. However, since I have never used one in the first place, I decided to try a cheap 165 yen one from Daiso.

Just by creating a place for my neck, can I be in a natural posture!?

When I actually put it on, the most noticeable change was how my neck felt more settled. Until now, when I reclined a little, I had the sensation that my neck was floating back, but by inserting the cushion, that space is naturally filled.
Rather than something dramatically changing, it might be closer to the feeling of "I no longer have to forcefully adjust my posture." The need to lift my hips to align my head or to push my neck forward has decreased, making it easier to lean my body naturally against the seat.

During times when I'm not driving, such as when taking a short break in the parking lot or waiting in the car while my family shops, I clearly feel the difference in situations where I want to relax without completely sleeping.

I'm sure others will relate! The comfort of filling the gap in my neck.

The neck cushion itself is not too soft and does not sink in excessively when you rest your neck on it. Rather than feeling fluffy, it supports the position of your neck and provides stability when leaning back.

Recent cars have made significant advances in seat performance. Nevertheless, after being in the car for a long time, there are surprisingly points that feel a bit off, such as "just a little bit here is not right." This neck cushion serves as an item to fill those subtle gaps.
It's not excessive, but thanks to having a designated place for my neck, my experience during travel and breaks inside the car has certainly changed. Not just for long drives, but for those who spend a lot of time in the car, whether in traffic jams or during pick-ups and drop-offs, this feeling might resonate more.
