【Organizing the Car Interior】I was able to enjoy an autumn drive pleasantly with Muji's "hanging usable" multi-storage case.

Whether you have finished your Silver Week or are still in it, a clear autumn day is perfect for a drive. If so, let's make the inside of the car pleasant and tidy up the cluttered interior! I tried using the hanging usable A4 pocket multi-storage case.

With the hints of autumn, I felt like going for a drive to enjoy the cool breeze. However, I always noticed that the passenger seat and back seat would get cluttered with little things.

Since it’s a waste of time to rummage through the car asking, "Where did I put that?", I decided to organize a bit before my drive.

I introduced the Muji series that can be hung, the "A4 Pocket Multi Storage Case that Can Be Hung" (2590 yen). *It seems to be sold out on the official online store.

It claims to be easy to set up by just hanging it on the car's headrest, so I installed it in our Alphard to organize the interior.

The fabric is thick and sturdy, and my first impression was that it’s "not cheap-looking" as I had expected. No tools are required for installation. It was surprisingly light and I was able to hang it up immediately, which was unexpected. I was able to install it without particularly worrying about the thickness of the headrest's support, so it seems usable for various car models.

The upper part is equipped with a sturdy handle, which is a significant feature allowing you to detach it from the car and carry it directly. It offers mobility when you want to ride hands-free and when you get out of the car at your driving destination to carry the contents around.

How does it feel to put in water, a notepad, sunglasses, a tumbler, and so on?

I placed a water bottle, notepad, pen, sunglasses, tumbler, towel, and insect repellent spray inside. I intentionally bring a paper notepad so that I can quickly jot down ideas for my driving destination.

The tumbler fits snugly in the deep pocket and shows no signs of tipping over even with the vibrations during driving, and the water bottle can also be stored upright in the pocket, making it quite convenient.

By separating the sunglasses and the notepad/pen into the upper mesh pocket, there's a reassuring sense of visibility for the contents. By placing them here, I can easily distinguish the items I want to take out at a glance.

So far, I had been distributing items not only around the driver’s seat but also at the passenger’s footwell and in the door pockets, but I simply gathered them into one case, and just determining each item’s designated spot made the area around the seats look astonishingly tidy. I did not imagine that the first impression upon getting in would change this much before installation.

A tidy interior may change the quality of the drive.

With the interior organized, I set off without a particular destination in mind. As I drove wherever I felt like, I unexpectedly found myself on the highway, and the sky spreading before me was dyed in a beautiful shade of crimson. Each time I curved along the elevated road, I could see the color of the sky gradually changing, and just that made me feel that autumn was approaching. With no traffic signals, it became the most enjoyable moment of the day, just driving while pursuing the changing colors of the sky.

A tidy interior was pleasant, allowing me to have the leisure to enjoy the scenery. Being able to jot down places I was interested in stopping by or things I thought of right away in a notebook was also a high point of my time in the car.

This case can be used as a handbag or slung over the shoulder, so it might be nice to have items that I don’t want to leave in the car or can interchange based on my destination.

I realized that taking a little extra effort to organize the interior without elaborate preparations can change the way I spend my driving time.
