[Daiso] Can neck and shoulder fatigue be alleviated? I tried the neck mesh backrest during a long-distance drive

Can it reduce neck and shoulder fatigue during traffic jams? I actually used Daiso's "Neck Mesh Backrest" in the car and verified the differences when used alongside a backrest and based on seating height. What are the small comforts unique to a 110 yen item?

The moment I realized my neck was sore during a long drive

The fatigue in my neck and shoulders gradually builds up during long drives and traffic jams during the leisure season. By the time I arrive at my destination, I sometimes feel reluctant to turn my head.
I wanted to try the Daiso "Mesh Backrest for Neck" during such times. Honestly, I had low expectations since it was only 110 yen, but when I installed it in my Alphard, I unexpectedly felt a small change.

Neck support changes posture

It's not fluffy; it has a sense of resilience. When I installed it, I felt that my posture easily became aligned. There is a slight sensation of resistance when resting my neck on it, and that resistance naturally helps straighten my back. Since I can maintain a comfortable posture without leaning too deeply into the seat, the burden on my shoulders and lower back felt lighter even during long drives.
Furthermore, when used in conjunction with the "mesh backrest" that I tried before, there was a sense of stability as if being supported in a straight line from the neck to the lower back. Surprisingly, it matched quite well, and it feels like the overall posture balance naturally improves.

Depending on your height, it may not fit well.

In the case of 180cm height, the mesh part was positioned just slightly below the base of the neck. While it is sufficient support, it might fit someone a bit shorter right along the neck line.
The feel also varies depending on the height of the headrest and the shape of the seat. By adjusting it slightly up or changing the angle, I was able to use it comfortably while finding the right position for my body.

A small margin felt even during traffic jams.

During the autumn holidays, when I tried a drive of three hours one way, I found that the fatigue around my neck was lighter than usual, and I was able to take shorter breaks. When I rested my neck against it, I felt a light support returning, and that slight point of support created some leeway. Even in the back seat, there was a sense of stability when leaning against it, making it usable for napping.

At 110 yen, surprisingly, I felt less fatigued

With this 110 yen item, although there wasn't a dramatic change, I did feel that "it became a little easier," that "little" is present. The focus is on preventing fatigue from building up rather than eliminating it completely. This neck mesh backrest seemed to work adequately as a small support.

It might be a good idea to incorporate it when you want to create a bit of leeway in your body during drives in the leisure season.
