BYD Auto Japan has announced the new crossover SUV "BYD SEALION 7." Despite its high quality, equipped with an upscale interior and advanced safety features, it comes at an approachable price. It's a vehicle we want those who have yet to experience EVs to try.

The "BYD SEALION 7" is a new crossover SUV with high cost-performance, equipped with advanced safety features and comfortable amenities, showcasing high quality.

There are two grades: the rear-wheel-drive "BYD SEALION 7" and the four-wheel-drive "BYD SEALION 7 AWD." Designed based on the "BYD SEAL," it offers an upscale interior like that of a high-class SUV, along with an evolved infotainment system. You can enjoy a sporty driving experience with a wide tread and four-wheel variable dampers. Additionally, it received the highest rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP safety assessment for 2025.

The design incorporates the freedom and beauty of marine life. The front features the "Ocean X Face," characteristic of the marine series, with sharp LED headlights that assert a strong presence. The double waistline running from front to rear expresses the boundary between the sky and sea, enhancing the smooth outer skin of the body together with the retractable door handles while driving.

The roof gently slopes towards the rear in a coupe style, maintaining a low drag coefficient of Cd=0.28 despite its tall SUV stature. At the rear end silhouette, the through-type taillights are placed to continue from the body side's press lines, embodying the beauty of the horizon at sea.

Like other BYD models, it adopts lithium-ion batteries using LFP. While heavier and with lower capacity compared to ternary lithium-ion batteries, it possesses extremely high safety and durability. The batteries are arranged in a flat manner, optimally tiled without gaps for long-term use in optimal conditions. Additionally, by incorporating the blade battery as part of the vehicle body, body rigidity is achieved, allowing for excellent handling performance complemented by optimized suspension.

With a low center of gravity unique to EVs and enhanced road-following capabilities, you can enjoy a comfortable and sporty ride with stable grip at all times.

As part of a new driving assistance system, a driver monitoring system is now standard across all vehicles. If the small camera on the driver's side detects abnormalities, an alarm is triggered, enabling a safer driving experience.
