【Motorcycle】 - Starts at -25°C! Next-generation battery adopted by BMW Motorrad Motorsport

If you love bikes, you'll definitely be interested in the bike sodium-ion battery "OUTDO". The fact that it's officially adopted by BMW Motorrad Motorsport—now that's too intriguing!

The expected improvement in fuel efficiency and acceleration performance due to weight reduction

The "NaCR" series adopts sodium ion to address the challenges of weight, fire risk, and environmental burden commonly associated with lead and lithium-ion batteries, which is its biggest feature. Sodium ion is also expected to be utilized in BEVs, and because its materials can be sourced from seawater, it has gained attention due to the abundance of resources.

Compared to lead batteries, they are approximately 40-60% lighter, and improvements in fuel efficiency and acceleration performance are also expected. Additionally, their resistance to cold and ease of long-term storage will provide significant benefits to a wide range of riders.

When fully charged, they can maintain power for up to 18 months, even when mounted on a bike, for a maximum of 12 months. This makes them ideal for motorcycles with long hibernation periods or seasonal vehicles.

With a long life that lasts up to 10 years.

The ability to charge power instantly is also the appeal of sodium-ion batteries; even if the battery goes dead, it can be revived immediately. In terms of lifespan, it offers about 80,000 engine starts, over 3,000 charge and discharge cycles, and a cost-performance ratio that allows for replacement only once every 10 years at most.
Additionally, the battery itself has unique features such as being installable in any orientation and having a multi-layered safety structure like CID.

Reached the target amount in just 15 minutes.

As the official technical partner of the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, it will also be adopted for the 2024 World Champion machine, with Japan's top rider Tetsuta Nagashima appointed as the official ambassador. Its performance is certified.
In the presale, it was reported that the target amount was achieved in just 15 minutes after the project started. Since it is already attracting attention, we recommend checking it early if you want to get next-generation batteries at a good price.
