[Scenic Hidden Gem] Enjoyed a scenic bath camping experience at Shizuoka's solo-exclusive "Cloud Viewing Sunset and Sound of Waves Cape Auto Campsite"
A must-see for solo campers! The "Cloud Viewing Sunset and Sound of Waves Cape Auto Campsite," which I stumbled upon online, is a hidden gem exclusively for solo campers, promising a quiet time. I enjoyed breathtaking views and a scenic bath solo.<
There is a stunning view guaranteed with tranquility and a bath at the campsite

I came to Matsuzaki Town, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture, seeking a beautiful scenery and a quiet space. The campsite in Kumomi is located in a peaceful area with a small fishing port and an Onsen town, and the coastline where you can see Mount Fuji beyond the horizon is also a local attraction.

The sites for pitching tents are divided into two areas: one along the coast above the management building and one on the mountain side in front of the management building, both available on a first-come, first-served basis. Since it was a weekday right after a holiday, it was a complete solo trip with just the author.

In front of the site, the horizon spreads out, offering a panoramic view of the majestic scenery. The distance from the sea creates a calm atmosphere, with the sound of waves faintly heard in the distance. Since it is a campsite dedicated to solo campers, the guaranteed tranquility is also very attractive.

The coastal area has a total of 15 sites, with 2 bungalows that can accommodate up to 2 people. The ground is nicely leveled, so you won’t feel any slant even when lying down. However, since it is hard, it would be better to bring steel pegs and a peg hammer.

The area on the mountain side below has a total of 13 sites, and it is also spacious and has a peaceful atmosphere. The reception, washing area, and restrooms are also set up in this area.
The free scenic viewpoint bath is absolutely amazing.

One of the main reasons I was attracted to the Kumomi Sunset and Sound of Waves Auto Campground is this viewpoint bath. Since I was granted permission to take photos this time, let's take a look inside.

The bathroom features a panoramic view, creating an incredibly open and airy space! What’s surprising is that it is free to use and can be reserved exclusively multiple times (so please avoid long baths to be considerate of others). By the way, the operating hours are from 6:00 to 10:45 and from 13:00 to 22:00.

The bathtub is equipped with a jacuzzi, making it hard to believe this is a campground. Although it was quite hot on the day of the shoot, I was able to feel refreshed the entire time thanks to this bath.
In the end, I enjoyed the scenic bath three times before leaving and felt as if I had stayed at an inn.

A well-equipped cooking area, no worries about trash, and even a coin laundry

The washing area was spacious, and there was a large table set up, making it very user-friendly. Since you can even use a microwave, it’s no problem if you find cooking yourself cumbersome; you can just buy convenience store meals.

They also collect trash if you sort it, so it’s reassuring even for motorcycle touring.

Even if you accumulate a lot of dirty laundry from beach leisure or prolonged stays, it's comforting to have a coin laundry available. It could serve as a great base for leisure activities like fishing or swimming.

Among many often-crowded campsites, it may have been a long time since I spent such a peaceful time enjoying such views. I believe this precious environment has become solo-only due to the owner's wish to operate it slowly for retirement.
I actually wanted to keep this place to myself without writing about it, but I highly recommend it for solo campers, so why not visit it once?
