[Autumn Camping] Getting ready for autumn with homemade smoked salmon & whiskey! On-site tasting edition at the campground

The theme is men's autumn camping, enjoying whiskey at the campground. Last time, we made homemade smoked salmon in the smoking cooking edition. This time, we went to Hakushu in Yamanashi Prefecture, renowned for its whiskey, for an enjoyable experience. And can we buy the premium Suntory "Hakushu"? We also conducted local research.

First, we headed to the "Michinoeki Hakushuu" near the campsite.

We had reserved a campsite in Hakushuu, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Hakushuu is known as a place of famous water, and it is also known for the Suntory Hakushu Distillery. While shopping for ingredients, we stopped by the nearby Michinoeki Hakushuu to see if they had the rare whiskey "Hakushu."

Since we are locals of Hakushuu, we went with faint hopes, but unfortunately, neither the Michinoeki Hakushuu nor the adjacent supermarket had the premium Hakushu whiskey. Since we had no choice, we decided to only purchase the necessary items and head to the campsite.

The journey to the campsite was refreshing, and the sky felt vast. The contrast between the blue sky and green was beautiful, and it’s a place I want to visit again, no matter how many times I come. As we got closer to the campsite, the excitement grew.

Upon arriving at the campsite, we first relaxed.

The campsite is located at the foot of the Kaikoma Mountains, near the Dabu River, and is a wonderful place with beautiful scenery and fresh air. After successfully setting up, we take a moment to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

It seems that even people working at the Suntory factory find it difficult to purchase Hakushu whiskey.

When I asked during the explanation of the campsite rules, "Can I buy Hakushu whiskey around here?" I learned that it's difficult to purchase it except during factory tours, and even employees of the Suntory factory have trouble obtaining it. It appears that the scarcity of domestic whiskey is still ongoing... So, I gave up the search and began the party with a highball and edamame bought at the roadside station.

Of course, the pairing is excellent, and it became a blissful time. Since I prepared it at home, it was easy and convenient to just slice it at the site. Smoked salmon seems like a perfect menu item for camping.

On a night where the sounds of insects and cool air flow, we enjoyed drinks and a campfire leisurely, making it a fulfilling camping experience. I think I'll be able to sleep well tonight.

I welcomed the morning safely inside the tent, breathing in the refreshing air. The visited Hokuto City had very beautiful scenery and a pleasant climate, allowing for a comfortable stay.

My homemade smoked salmon, a first attempt, also went well, which is another great achievement that expanded the scope of camping. How about enjoying autumn camping with homemade smoked salmon and whiskey?
