【DCM vs KAINZ】Which has a longer lasting effect for anti-fog sheets!? I conducted a practical comparison

I actually used the anti-fog sheets from the home centers DCM and KAINZ. I will check the effectiveness right after use, as well as one day and three days later!

What are the effects of the inexpensive fog-reduction sheets available at home centers?

During the rainy season, what concerns me while driving is the fog on the windshield. While using the defroster can largely alleviate this issue, the noise can be bothersome, and it can fog up again quickly... I wanted to reduce fogging in the first place, so I decided to try the original fog-reduction sheets from the home center.

The comparison method is quite simple; I will use DCM on the right windshield and Kainz on the left to wipe it down.

DCM offers a good cost-performance with 15 sheets

For the right windshield, I'll be using DCM's "fog-reduction sheet." It seems that just a quick wipe can remove dirt while also providing fog-reduction effects.

When I actually wiped with DCM's anti-fog sheet, it also removed fingerprints cleanly. No wiping marks were left, and the visibility is very clear. The size of approximately 20×30cm is just right for wiping one front windshield.

KAINZ has a larger sheet with 10 sheets included

Next, I purchased "Interior Anti-Fog Wet Sheet" from KAINZ. It is larger than DCM's, which seems useful for wiping larger front windshields, such as those of minivans.

The product has a high moisture content and can be smoothly wiped on the glass without any sticking. The fact that the sheet is not easy to dry out until the end is also a significant plus. Stubborn fingerprints were removed with just one wipe.

Let's compare checks with steam after one day and three days! What are the results?

In the image above, the right side shows the DCM "Anti-Fog Sheet," while the left side shows the Cainz "Interior Anti-Fog Wet Sheet," both used to wipe the front windshield. Right after wiping, I exposed it to plenty of hot steam. Both products demonstrate anti-fog efficacy, but it seems that the DCM on the right retains a higher level of clarity.

And here’s the front windshield after one day. It was slightly foggy right after, but both maintained visibility suitable for driving without using the defroster function. However, upon closer inspection, it is evident that DCM remains clearer without becoming white, demonstrating a superior anti-fog effect.

Additionally, here is the condition after three days. As you can see in the photo, the left side wiped with Cainz has started to show slight fogging. After waiting a bit, the fogging disappeared, so compared to not using anything, the fogging was significantly reduced. On the other hand, the side wiped with DCM maintained a clear view even after three days, leading to DCM being the better performer in terms of durability.

The product that exhibited a high level of anti-fog efficacy over the week was DCM's "Anti-Fog Sheet." The Cainz "Interior Anti-Fog Wet Sheet" also has an effect, so it can serve as a reliable partner for those who want to simultaneously clear away fingerprints and other residues.
