【BYD】Super Hybrid SUV "SEALION 6" to be released in Japan starting from 3,982,000 yen

The lineup includes the front-wheel-drive "BYD SEALION 6" and the all-wheel-drive "BYD SEALION 6 AWD." With approximately 300 pre-orders already received as of the end of November, it is attracting a lot of attention.

What is the super hybrid "DM-i" in the first place?

DM-i consists of a 1.5L high-efficiency dedicated engine, a PHEV-specific blade battery for high output, and a highly efficient electric hybrid system (EHS), forming a hybrid system where "electric driving is the main focus."

The control of DM-i (EHS) allows for switching between three modes based on driving scenarios: "EV mode" with 100% motor drive, "Series driving mode" where the motor is the main player supported by the engine, and "Parallel (direct connection) mode" where both the engine and motor are in the lead. This enables efficient driving.

Spacious interior and calming interior design are also attractive.

The front, which features the "Ocean X Face" design that embodies the DNA of the Ocean series, is also distinctive. The interior presents a modern impression with a contrast of black and brown. The front seats are equipped with electric sports seats that have heating and ventilation. With a one-touch open/close panoramic sunroof, the sense of openness is exceptional.
