【Ramen】The star is a quarter head of cabbage! The bowl at "Uemuraya" exceeded expectations
I visited "Yokohama Ramen Kitchen Uemuraya" in Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama, to try their signature dish, the Kyabetama Ramen. What is the taste of this impactful bowl made with a whole quarter head of cabbage?
Today, I’m driving to Tsuzuki in Yokohama! Aiming for the cabbage egg ramen

"I want to eat some delicious ramen today." With that mood, I headed out with my family to "Yokohama Ramen Kitchen Uemuraya" located in Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama.
What I was curious about was, of course, the signature dish, "Cabbage Egg Ramen." Apparently, whole cabbage is topped in the bowl. As I entered the address into the GPS and started driving, my spirits lifted. As I got closer to the restaurant, I naturally felt my expectations rising, thinking, "This looks like it will be a great lunch."

As expected from the prior information that the parking lot is spacious, upon arrival, it was easy to maneuver the vehicle in and out, and the atmosphere was welcoming enough for families with children. The moment I saw the entrance, I was able to take a sigh of relief.

The "Cabbage Egg Ramen" that raises your spirits at first sight

Without hesitation, I ordered the "Cabbage Egg Ramen" (1,050 yen). The moment it arrived at my table, I couldn’t help but exclaim, "Wow..." I think you can see in the above photo, but the volume of cabbage piled in the bowl is stunning.

Moreover, this cabbage is freshly delivered every day from local farms. Its crisp texture and gentle sweetness stand out firmly even in the soup.
It's rich yet not heavy. A ramen that you want to eat every day.

The soup is based on tonkotsu soy sauce, but it's much lighter and sharper than expected. It has a moderate amount of greasiness while maintaining a solid richness, resulting in an unexpectedly refined flavor.

The medium-thick wavy noodles blend well with the soup and cabbage, allowing you to enjoy different textures and flavors with each bite.

What surprised me further was the accompanying chashu. It was tender and juicy, not overwhelming with grease, and it maintained a strong presence without disrupting the overall balance.

The chopsticks just wouldn't stop, and before I knew it, I was enjoying the soup as well; it was a highly satisfying bowl. More than the visual impact, the fundamental deliciousness as ramen surpasses it.
Loved by everyone from children to the elderly, it offers a comforting bowl.

Uemuraya aims for a "taste that doesn't get boring even if eaten every day." The restaurant was filled with a wide range of customers, from the elderly to students and families, indicating its deep-rooted popularity in the community.

On this day, our family also visited with our children, and Uemuraya offers a menu item called "Children's Ramen (400 yen)", allowing even small children to enjoy ramen easily. With just the right volume and mild seasoning, the children were enthusiastically slurping up the noodles.

Adults can enjoy their hearty servings while kids can savor their own ramen. A ramen shop where the whole family can be satisfied is surprisingly rare. One reason Uemuraya has been loved for many years may lie in such thoughtful considerations.
A special ramen that you can only experience here

The "Kyabetama Ramen" is a registered trademark. In other words, it is a one-of-a-kind ramen that can only be enjoyed at Uemuraya. You can stop by easily with your car, parking is convenient, and it's incredibly delicious. Before you know it, you're thinking, "When should I come next?" and the conversation after the meal was lively.
