I want to wear “coveralls” for winter camping! What is the 2WAY separate structure that also becomes a vest?

I’ve always had a quiet admiration for coveralls. When I thought I wanted a piece I could really put to use, the thing that instantly caught my attention was DOD’s “Shin Tsunaves.” The late-night-friendly hoodie and the new colors of the sweatshirts with the boldly featured rabbit are also here, broadening the DOD style for fall and winter.

What Is a Separate-Type Coverall?

An overall with the top and bottom connected is a piece that lifts your spirits at a campsite. But whether you’d wear it all the time is another matter. So “Shin Tsunaves” has a structure that lets you remove the pants section with buttons at the waist. Connect the top and bottom and it becomes coveralls; remove the bottom and it can be used as a vest.

Today, go all-out in coveralls at camp. Tomorrow, just the vest for a trip around the neighborhood. The unique point is that simply changing how you wear one item makes it less likely to become a seldom-used piece of clothing.

Compared with the previous model, the ease of putting it on and taking it off, as well as durability, have been improved, and the vest’s front opening has been changed to a zipper. Fit can also be adjusted with the shoulder straps and the inner waist ties. Incidentally, the removed pants section cannot be worn on its own. Please note that this is not a “3WAY” item that lets you wear the vest and pants separately.

The vest’s all-purpose versatility is incredible

At camp, you carry pegs, use a hammer, go get drinks. Your hands are surprisingly busy. On the front of Shin Tsunaves there’s a large pocket, and on the back, an extra-large pocket. At the waist, there’s even a drink pocket that can hold a 350 ml can or a 500 ml plastic bottle. There are loops for hanging a hammer or towel, and D-rings for attaching small items placed all over the vest. It’s fair to say this is a vest made up of things needed for work.

The fabric is poly-cotton made of 60% cotton and 40% polyester. Another point is that it’s less likely to get holes from sparks from a campfire than fabric made only from synthetic fibers. The colors are available in three options: beige, khaki, and black. You can choose colors that feel close to everyday wear.

A hoodie that wraps your neck and hands for late-night chill

If you’re pairing it with Tsunaves, the newly renewed “Shin Yofuken Hoodie” also catches the eye. On camping nights, even if it’s warm in front of the fire, your neck can feel chilly when you stand up. It’s a hassle to go back and get a scarf. This hoodie uses a hood shaped to keep wind from entering around the neck. The ribbed cuffs have thumb holes, allowing coverage over the backs of your hands as well.

In addition, the rabbit logo uses glow-in-the-dark phosphorescent printing. The button loops use reflective cord. The stretchy loopback fabric is made from 95% cotton and 5% polyurethane. What you want late at night isn’t extravagant gear, but just a little warmth around the neck and hands. This is a piece that covers those small but important details.

The rabbit goes bam! New colors: 3

When you think of DOD, that rabbit comes to mind. The classic “Usagi Dodon Sweat” now has new colors too. The newly added colors are heather gray, sand beige, and blue. There’s a large rabbit print on the back. From the front it looks clean and simple, but when you turn around it becomes unmistakably DOD. The main body is a back-pile fabric made of 50% cotton and 50% polyester. Since it’s not brushed on the inside, it’s easy to use as an inner layer or on its own from early autumn through early spring. It would also look good worn under Tsunaves, or letting the sleeve color peek out from above a transformed vest.

Clothes you can wear on days you feel like wearing coveralls, and on days you don’t. The functionality is pretty serious, but the look is unmistakably DOD. The idea of using clothes the same way you’d use camping gear may come from a company culture that keeps an overwhelming sense of playfulness alive.
