【Stream Fishing】I Tried Custom Painting Lures in My Style with the "Iregui Marker"

Fishing lures come in various variations. While carefully selecting, it can surprisingly be difficult to find a shape and color that suit your taste. Just when I thought so, I discovered a marker that allows for free coloring. I tried custom painting my lures so I could fish in my preferred style.

Once I started stream fishing, I came to understand the importance of lure colors. I prioritize the visibility of lures. I prefer those that are bright and easily visible on the top and back of the lure, so I decided to try custom painting. I discovered the special marker "Iregui Marker" sold by Shachihata and decided to actually paint it.

The Iregui Marker is a waterproof oil-based pen. Once painted on the lure and used for fishing, the paint tends to resist peeling off. While I wanted to use it to enhance visibility, it is originally a marker designed to increase the appeal to fish.

Since I prefer fluorescent yellow, I chose "Keimura Matt Yellow" (605 yen). There is a rich variety of colors available, including pink, orange, green, and red.

The ink has a smooth texture, and when layered it provides a slightly translucent effect. It dries quickly, and I was able to easily custom paint it even on my first try.

By the way, I was scared to use it on a brand-new lure, so I'm challenging myself with a used lure that I purchased. I look forward to seeing what kind of effects it actually has on fishing days.

When actually taken to a stream field, it stands out quite a bit in nature. It's not so easy to catch fish, but confirming the custom effect is enough.

When I tried letting it flow in the river, it felt really good! In the river with white sandy bottom, the light scatters and makes the lure hard to see, but the custom-painted lure has high visibility as expected.

This kind of marker-based lure customization was learned from the POP of a nationwide chain fishing tackle shop and seems to be popular in the fishing industry. If it becomes this easy to see, I might want to try various customizations.

After casting the lure for a few hours, I miraculously caught an iwana. I was blessed with good catches, but what was most satisfying was that I was able to enjoy "the kind of fishing I want to do" as a result of the customization.

I continue fishing for hours while checking the lure's movements because I want to see the moment a fish strikes. If I don't use tools that I am confident will catch fish, the doubt of "Is it okay to fish in this state?" continues to grow, and I can't enjoy that day's fishing much. Thanks to the effect of this customization, my trust in the lure increased, allowing me to concentrate on each cast.

Since there isn't just one answer, it's not easy to find the best equipment and methods in the deep world of fishing.

In that context, I surprisingly found a way to enjoy fishing easily. This irregularity marker is one of them and is an item that easily realizes my ideas. Moving forward, I want to continue trying out various ideas in the field for my enjoyment.
