【Daiso】Does the "Side Magnet Curtain" work in the hot summer car interior?

The car interior is filled with sweltering heat. Waiting for the air conditioning to kick in... there’s no time! We checked if Daiso's "Side Magnet Curtain" can solve the problem of summer heat in the car interior.

I tried it in the summer car! 110 yen curtain

When you get into the car in the summer, it’s filled with a suffocating heat, creating a sauna-like state. Even if you turn on the air conditioning, it takes time to cool down, right? However, if you open the doors or windows to circulate the air, insects can get in.
Just before summer kicks in, I discovered the "Side Magnetic Curtain (Wide)" at Daiso. Made from mesh material, it seems to work not only as a sunshade but also to combat increasing temperatures. This time, I will actually install the magnetic curtain on a day when the temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius and check its effectiveness.
Product name / Side Magnetic Curtain (Wide)
Price / 110 yen
Material / Main body Polyester, Magnet
Size / 75×55×0.1cm
● Daiso Industry
The size is larger at 75×55×0.1cm, but since it is lightweight, it becomes compact when not in use.
It has small magnets in three places at the top, making installation easy. Not only can you adjust its position, but it also won’t fall even if a bit of wind blows, making it comfortable.

The mesh material reduces ultraviolet rays.

The mesh fabric makes it feel like the sunlight is considerably reduced and the ultraviolet rays are weakened while wearing it.

Additionally, this makes it harder for people outside the car to see inside, which is great for taking a little break at service areas. While it cannot be attached to the side windows during driving, if placed on the rear seats, it creates a comfortable environment for pets during the drive.

Check with the air conditioning on in a car interior of about 40 degrees.

The outside temperature is 30℃, but the interior temperature of the car heated by sunlight is about 40℃. Because the humidity is also high, after sitting for about a minute, sweat began to bead on my body. In this state, even with the air conditioning on, it doesn't cool down easily.
From here, I will check the effectiveness of the air conditioning. First, when not using the "magnet curtain," it took about 6.5 minutes for the interior temperature to drop from about 40℃ to about 26℃. It feels long during the wait as my energy is sapped by the glaring sunlight.
After a few hours, when the interior temperature reaches the same conditions, I will install the "magnet curtain" on the left and right side windows and activate the air conditioning. Then, after 3 minutes, the interior temperature has dropped by 5℃. I could feel that it had become quite cooler. At this room temperature, it seems like I could bring a pet along.

Is there a difference in the heat of the dashboard even if the interior temperature is the same?

And then, after another 5 minutes. Remarkably, the interior temperature had dropped to 26 degrees. The muggy heat had disappeared as if it were a lie, and it had become a comfortable space free of sweat. To be honest, I didn't expect it to cool down this quickly, so I was surprised! Also, during this wait, it helped reduce the sunlight, allowing for a comfortable time.

This difference may lie in the car's interior decor exposed to sunlight. In any case, during the harsh Japanese summer, this minute and a half is significant! It’s certain to become an indispensable presence during summer drives.
