[New Lexus Model] 7-passenger model added! Off-road SUV "GX550" starting from 11.95 million yen

Lexus has announced the new off-road SUV "GX550." In addition to the pre-release OVERTRAIL+, a 7-passenger version L has been newly configured. With a luxurious yet robust build, it provides a sense of security to safely return from anywhere.

The GX series, which has sold a cumulative 400,000 units

Lexus "GX" has been on sale mainly in North America since 2002, and the "GX550," the third generation, is the first model introduced in Japan. It is a sibling vehicle to the "Land Cruiser 250" and shares several common features such as the adoption of the GA-F platform and the wheelbase length. On the other hand, the appeal of the Lexus brand is highlighted by its V6 twin-turbo engine, high off-road capability with E-KDSS, and the use of EPS for on-road driving, providing a refined driving experience.

In the interior, designed with off-road driving in mind, the top of the instrument panel serves as a reference point for a simple horizontal and vertical configuration. The introduction of the Lexus-first center display connected from the gauge enhances the simple and modern indoor space.

Different settings for the 5-passenger OVERTRAIL+ and the 7-passenger version L

This time, a new version L has been set for the Japanese market, featuring differences in interior and exterior, as well as performance compared to the OVERTRAIL+.

First, in the exterior of version L, a dimmable panoramic roof and electric shade are available as options, along with prominent 22-inch aluminum wheels. In the interior, auto power-retractable steps, electric reclining third-row seats, and semi-aniline leather seats have been adopted.

Regarding performance, features such as E-KDSS, differential lock (rear), and downhill assist control have not been included. Additionally, in safety features, a panoramic view monitor has been adopted instead of a multi-terrain monitor.

Overall, it seems that the interior space leans towards version L, while the driving aspect will align with OVERTRAIL+.
