[Outerwear] Casual Jogging Habit with Workman's 1500 yen Windbreaker

In the evening, when there's a temperature difference from daytime, putting on a layer might make me feel more active. When I casually jog by the waterside where ducks walk or on the leaf-strewn path, the usual scenery starts to look a bit different. Maybe I can keep this up!?

The evening breeze is pleasant, so I casually decided to start jogging.

Near my home, there is a walkway that continues along the waterfront with a gravel path. Usually, I just walk past it, but since I’m here, I thought I’d throw on something that lifts my spirits and go jogging. With that in mind, I put on Workman’s "Durable Water-Repellent Stretch Windbreaker."

The price of 1500 yen made me feel like I could run without any pressure, even if it was just the first step that may or may not last long.

The moment I slipped it on, I thought, “This might be easy to run in.”

As I put on the windbreaker, I first noticed how easy it was to move my arms. The stretchy fabric allows for large arm movements without feeling tight, and it lightly conforms to my body. Even when I stretched both arms up over my head, I didn’t feel any tugging around my shoulders, so I thought stretching before running would be easy.
The inside has a mesh design, giving it a smooth texture. The fabric doesn’t cling to my skin, making it easy to forget that I’m wearing it. I chose off-white for the color. There are small dots of mesh around the shoulders that are slightly transparent, but it gives a subtle expression to the simple white.
The cuffs have black rubber that gently wraps around the wrists. Even when swinging the arms, the sleeves don't ride up, so it's easy to glance at the watch naturally. There are transition lines on the back, and the back view looks neat.

An evening jog to see scenery that can only be seen now.

When I reached the promenade, the low evening light was shining through the trees. I raised both arms high to stretch my body, and as I took a deep breath of the cool air, I felt my mind gradually clear.
As I started to run slowly, the sound of crunching gravel came from my feet in a steady rhythm. The usual walking path looked a bit different when running, near the rest area with a roof, beside the stone bridge, and in front of the bamboo grove. During the thirty minutes of running, I occasionally glanced at my watch to check my pace.
While running, I saw several ducks walking on the grassy shore. Their leisurely walk after coming out of the water made it seem as if the ducks were also taking an evening stroll. I couldn't help but stop and watch for a while.
Preening their feathers, coming and going by the waterside. The trees beginning to change color on the water's surface and the evening light sway, making even the time spent stopping, despite having come out to run, enjoyable. The tension in my shoulders has completely relaxed.

I've continued running on my holidays four times this month.

This month, I ran four times, mainly on holiday evenings. Although it's still not enough to be called a "habit," I am starting to carve out "time to go for a run" on evenings that previously passed by without much thought.

I put on my windbreaker at the entrance and zip it up. Perhaps that simple motion of a few seconds has become the switch to run. Without needing to psych myself up, my body naturally heads outside, a change I didn't imagine when I first started.

I casually started, and I found myself wanting to continue.

As I walk, I’ve begun to notice changes in the ground beneath my feet and the surrounding scenery; even running on the same road, each time feels a little different. Finding the small differences in the scenery has become a joy during my run.
Even without special tools or plans, just having a comfortable item makes me want to try jogging. The Workman windbreaker was affordably priced, lowering the barrier to exercise and making me think, "Maybe I'll try running again next weekend."
