[World Premiere] Length of 4.16m! Drives up to 420km, Volkswagen's new electric SUV
Volkswagen has made its global debut of the electric compact SUV "ID. Cross Concept." The predicted range (WLTP mode) is up to 420km, suitable for both city driving and long-distance trips. The newly developed drive system is also noteworthy.
After the Polo, the "Cross" has arrived!
Volkswagen plans to sequentially launch new BEV concept cars starting in 2026. The "ID. Cross Concept," which is being unveiled for the first time in the world, will be the fourth car following the already announced "ID. Polo (formerly known as ID.2 All)," "ID. Polo GTI (formerly known as ID. GTI Concept)," and "ID. Every 1."

It has a total length of 4161mm, a wheelbase of 2601mm, a width of 1839mm, and a height of 1588mm. It is easy to handle, similar in size to the current "T-Cross," and the spacious width and open-sensation interior make it feel roomy inside. The trunk capacity is 450L, and there is an additional 25L of space provided in the frunk under the hood.

The interior is designed with the image of a comfortable oasis. Noteworthy are the seats specially designed for this concept car. When fully folded, these seats can create a reclining area similar to a "VW Bus."
A design that creates new trends.

The body is draped in a color called Urban Jungle Green, featuring a new design called "Pure Positive." Its positive personality is instantly recognizable from the front and rear. It gives the impression that the car is smiling.

The aluminum wheels are specialized 21-inch ones called Balboa, and the tires are also specialized, sized 235/40 R21, with a commitment to using the rim design on the tire's sidewall.
The next-generation platform MEB+ achieves a long driving range.

MEB+, which is an evolution of the dedicated BEV platform MEB, is scheduled to be introduced next year. The key new developed drivetrain achieves a maximum output of 155 kW (211 PS) and an estimated driving range (WLTP mode) of up to 420 km. It looks set to provide an enjoyable driving experience.
Additionally, the ball coupling can handle a towing load of 75 kg, and the maximum weight for a trailer is designed to be 1200 kg (with brakes, on an 8% gradient). It can also transport two e-bikes.
The base price has not been announced yet, but it is said to become more affordable. By the way, the same concept car, the "ID. Every 1," has a base price of about €20,000, which is also something to keep an eye on.
