Report on the fun "GARAGE Market" combining Shonan and American vintage

"Shonan T-SITE" proposes a pleasant lifestyle unique to the Shonan area. Centered around Tsutaya Bookstore, the facility organically connects cafes, restaurants, and select shops, resembling one cohesive town, hosting the popular annual event "GARAGE Market." I also checked out the popular shop "SOLSO FARM MARKET," which opened on the same day.

Located in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, with Shonan T-SITE, this area is popular among those who love a natural lifestyle with activities such as surfing, yoga, and outdoor pursuits, as it offers both the sea and mountains. It has good access to Tokyo and Yokohama, providing a local charm and a vibe that feels "just like California."

Shonan T-SITE hosts markets and events almost every week. The "GARAGE Market" this time (April 12-13) is one of the popular events, marking its 11th time. Centered around American vintage, it features shops offering various goods, furniture, clothing, and accessories, as well as around 40 food trucks serving drinks and food.

On the Saturday I visited the "GARAGE Market," it was perfect outing weather with temperatures exceeding 20 degrees. Under the blue sky, many families and dog owners were enjoying their time at the market. The colorful and unique American-style toys were fun just to look at!

Functionality aside, the "GARAGE Market" offers an opportunity to encounter favorite designs like coolers and signboards that are aesthetically pleasing just by being there. Discovering hidden gems among the unique selections from each shop is enjoyable.

There were many small goods and accessories that I had never seen before, making it tempting to stop by for an impulsive purchase. I understand the appeal!

Choosing second-hand clothes under the blue sky is also enjoyable

There were plenty of American casual shirts that will be expected to come in handy in the upcoming season. Since these were not flea market items but showcased by shops, I felt reassured even with second-hand clothes.

That day also had a rich selection of military wear. Casual and military specialty shops were lined up next to each other, making it fun for families to choose.

There was also a display of new cars. Shonan T-SITE is part of the advanced "Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town," where the public and private sectors work together to build a smart city. The display included popular lifestyle vehicles, such as electric cars and the Renault Kangoo, known for being loved by dog owners.
