Made with the same materials & methods as Japanese swords! A "real" protective sword forged by skilled swordsmiths

The "protective sword" crafted by forging tamahagane. A palm-sized sword made with the same materials and methods as Japanese swords, adorned with Nishijin weaving of dragons and tigers. Just holding it brings a little peace of mind──let's take a look at such a piece.

Embracing the charm of the Japanese sword "Yorokobi"

Since ancient times, Japan has passed down numerous customs associated with the Japanese sword. One of these is the "Omamori-gatana," a dagger given to protect a loved one. It is also considered a good luck charm that paves the way for the future.

This time, the "Omamori-gata hitofuri" is available with a jet-black blade. Black rust is considered auspicious in contrast to red rust, particularly in the context of Japanese swords. This blade, perfect for such a talisman, can be carried in a mini size.
The material is the same "Tamahagane" used in Japanese swords. Tamahagane is a very high-purity iron produced using the ancient Japanese sword-smithing technique known as "Tatara ironmaking." The one handling this material is Hiroyasu Ando, a swordsmith from Bizen Osubune, who inherits a tradition of craftsmanship spanning over 1,400 years. It is made using almost the same procedures as the creation of Japanese swords.

In accordance with the presence of the jet-black proportions, a special sword bag has also been created. The fabric is Nishijin weave, depicting dragons and tigers, symbols of good fortune. Care was taken in the cutting of the fabric so that the motifs appear beautifully on the front. It embodies various meanings such as rising fortune, success in life, protection from evil, and warding off misfortune. The colors of the patterns can be chosen from white and gold, respectively.

Additionally, a new piece titled "Shiranagi" will be added to the "Sword-shaped Hitofuri." It is a sword of a size that can be placed on a desk, an art piece that stands out in a stylish space. The unique patterns that emerge on the blade will not be the same for any two pieces.

In the "Sword-type Hitofuri," you can enjoy the same "pulling cut" as with a Japanese sword. Instead of cutting by pushing like a regular paper knife or utility knife, it features a style that involves cutting while pulling. For sword enthusiasts, it will be a moment where you can feel the essence of a Japanese sword up close.
