●ZEBRA Coffee & Croissant

About ten years ago, I became captivated after eating a croissant here. There are times when I suddenly crave it about once every six months. However, the croissants are very popular, and especially on weekends, they may be sold out... I decided to stop by on a weekday, worried about them being sold out, and planned to go in the morning.

As soon as I stepped inside, a large zebra monument welcomed me. The interior is tastefully decorated with items like a roasting machine and a vacuum tube amplifier made in 1958, creating a sophisticated atmosphere that feels urban. The contrast with the surrounding nature is pleasant and allows for relaxation.
I ordered coffee (580 yen) and a croissant (490 yen) at the counter located in the central area of the store. The friendly conversation with the staff was also comforting. I settled the payment first, received a bell for calling, and headed to my seat.

I was healed by the croissant and coffee I wanted to eat

As I sat and enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop, the call bell rang in no time. When I received the tray, there was freshly brewed coffee and a croissant larger than my palm. This was the croissant I wanted to eat.

I will have it before the lightly toasted croissant cools down. The outside is crunchy, while the inside is chewy. I can also smell the butter, making for an incredibly happy moment. The size is large, and by the time I finish eating, my stomach is quite full, but it’s so delicious that even dipping it in the cappuccino is worth trying.

The coffee made from single-origin beans roasted from light to medium in the roasting machine inside the store has a fruity flavor. The natural sweetness and richness of the beans are balanced nicely. It was a bit rainy and the temperature was low that day, so the warmth of the coffee seeped into my heart and body.

Since I was there, I decided to extend my visit to Lake Tsukui, which is about a 10-minute drive away. I wanted to enjoy the croissant there if it was sunny, but unfortunately, due to the rain, I got another cup of coffee to take out.

At the end of the drive, I was able to head home after thoroughly enjoying the beautiful scenery and feeling completely satisfied. As expected, the croissants and coffee at "ZEBRA Coffee & Croissant" are exquisite. If you're nearby when camping, touring, or driving, be sure to give them a try.
