【Demonstration】Challenging the Freshness Burger's Spicy Herb! Homemade 16x Coriander Chicken Burger

Inspired by the 15x coriander in Freshness Burger's "Spicy Herb Coriander Chicken Burger," I seriously compared the taste and appearance with my homemade 16x coriander burger. Can it surpass Freshness Burger at 16 times?

The "Explosive Green Herb Cilantro Chicken Burger" that has been the talk among cilantro lovers

The "Explosive Green Herb Cilantro Chicken Burger" from Freshness Burger is a hot topic among cilantro lovers. Compared to the regular "Cilantro Chicken Burger," this limited burger features an astonishing 15 times the amount of cilantro, targeting cilantro fans directly.

This time, I actually purchased the Explosive Green Herb Cilantro Chicken Burger to closely observe its contents. I also gathered ingredients from the supermarket to make my own version with 16 times the amount of cilantro, instead of 15, and compared it with the original. This is a report on my experience with a cilantro-packed burger, tackled with full force by a cilantro lover.

How much difference is there between 15 times and 16 times of cilantro?

Even when I hear "15 times," it doesn't quite register. So, I actually took the cilantro out of the Explosive Green Herb Cilantro Chicken Burger and measured it...
The weight was approximately 64g. According to Freshness Burger, the "Explosive Grass Cilantro Chicken Burger" is 15 times the amount of cilantro compared to the standard "Cilantro Chicken Burger" when the cilantro amount is taken as 1x. In other words, 64g ÷ 15 = about 4g is equivalent to 1x.
This means that for the 16x Cilantro Chicken Burger I will be making, 4g × 16 = about 68g is needed.
Therefore, I purchased a selection of ingredients such as cilantro, green leaf lettuce, and chicken thighs at the supermarket. I bought a lot of cilantro and will take on the challenge of making a grass-covered burger.

Freshness's explosive grass cilantro features "more stems," while the recreated burger has "more leaves."

What I realized when dissecting the Explosive Grass Cilantro Chicken Burger is that a considerable amount of cilantro stems are used. While the aroma is quite strong, the visual volume is surprisingly modest. The stems might be less bulky, which could also contribute to ease of eating.
On one hand, for the homemade 16x cilantro chicken burger, the store-bought cilantro had a lot of leaves, resulting in a considerably abundant appearance even at the same weight. Even when wrapped in green leaf, the cilantro spills out from all sides, making it look like a complete mass of grass.

Completed!? The homemade 16x cilantro chicken burger surpasses the explosive grass!

I actually made it and lined up the original and my homemade version. On the left is the purchased Freshness Burger's explosive grass cilantro chicken burger, and on the right is the newly created homemade 16x cilantro chicken burger. Comparing them side by side, it's clear that the homemade version has a much higher density of grass. By the way, when comparing it to the hand of a 3-year-old child, you can see that both have quite a volume.
By the way, just to add, the Freshness Burger's explosive grass cilantro chicken burger is not the type that is sandwiched between buns like a normal hamburger. It’s wrapped in green leaf and cilantro, and its visual is almost like a vegetable roll. Even though it is called a "burger," it looks completely like something holding grass.
The contents of the original Freshness Burger are:

・Fried chicken (chicken thigh)
・Sliced tomato
・Sliced onion
・Homemade tartar sauce that is creamy and rich with plenty of egg
In addition, there is a salt lemon sauce that adds a refreshing feeling.
To faithfully recreate it, I prepared fried chicken using chicken thighs that I deep-fried at home.
Furthermore, I made homemade tartar sauce by mixing hard-boiled eggs, onions, salt and pepper, and mayonnaise.
The salt lemon sauce was prepared by blending lemon juice, salt, and olive oil.
I used a solid 68g of cilantro. Since there were more leaves than usual, the grassiness was quite intense compared to the original.

Conclusion! This is the first time I've eaten this much cilantro. I might not want to see it for a while

What I realized from recreating the homemade 16x burger this time is that there isn’t much of a taste difference between “15x” and “16x.” However, the pressure of the homemade 16x cilantro definitely hits you.
I really love cilantro. But honestly, consuming it all at once mainly in leaf form is quite tough. For some reason, after eating, I was left with a sense of "accomplishment," feeling more "I did it" than "it was delicious."
The Freshness Burger Explosion Cilantro Chicken Burger is well-balanced, making it easier to eat than its visual impact would suggest, and I felt a high level of completion. On the other hand, my homemade version is an overwhelming grass burger where the pressure of the cilantro just hits you.
In all honesty... this is the first time I've eaten this much cilantro in my life. I might not want to see it for a while.
