The Garmin flagship model, the "fēnix" series, is a multi-sport GPS watch developed for users who strive for performance improvement without compromising in work or personal life.

The two models "fēnix 8 Pro" and "fēnix 8 Pro MicroLED," set to be released in early October, are smartwatches equipped with Garmin's first inReach feature. Without needing to carry a smartphone, the watch alone can make voice calls, send and receive messages, share location information via LiveTrack, and request SOS in emergencies.

With low-power LTE-M network, these models offer long operating time and wide coverage, providing a reliable means of communication for both daily use and outdoor activities.

With the fēnix 8, you can stay connected without a smartphone

Equipped with inReach technology, the first for Garmin watches. This cutting-edge model enables communication independently of a smartphone, allowing for LTE communication thanks to inReach technology.

Adopting LTE-M (Category M1), which allows calls, message sending, location sharing, and SOS requests from the watch without needing a smartphone, while ensuring low power consumption and wide coverage. Connectivity is possible as long as you are within the communication area, whether outdoor, in mountainous regions, or at sea.

What you can do with Garmin's LTE communication

Voice Calls & Messages
With the Garmin Messenger app, you can make voice calls, send and receive text messages, and send voice messages (30 seconds) from the watch alone.

LiveTrack & Messenger Check-in
Real-time location sharing with friends and family is possible, ensuring you can check on each other's safety. LiveTrack updates location every 30 seconds. During long activities like trail running, hiking, or cycling, regular and automatic location broadcasting and tracking of your route is supported. In case of emergencies, it allows for pinpointing and sharing your current location, which is useful when acting alone or if you get separated from companions.

SOS calling possible without a smartphone
Even if you cannot use your smartphone in an emergency, you can still send out an SOS. The SOS signal is quickly delivered to the Garmin response center, providing information about the position of the person in need of rescue and their current situation to the rescue organization. Additionally, the accident detection feature automatically notifies registered emergency contacts.

Receiving weather information
The fēnix 8 Pro AMOLED and fēnix 8 Pro MicroLED allow for acquiring weather data. This capability helps you recognize unexpected weather changes in mountainous areas or at sea, enabling quick action and decision-making.
