Small dogs like Chihuahuas are sensitive to the cold, so during the winter season, it can be a challenge to find suitable clothing for them. Therefore, I tried out some of the recently expanded pet wear from Daiso to prepare my dog for the cold.

"The 'pet clothes (sweater)' have just the right texture and thickness

My dog (Chihuahua) is sensitive to the cold, and every year winter walks become a battle against the cold. I have been buying various brands of warm clothing, but I unexpectedly discovered pet wear at Daiso when I stopped by. Upon checking them out, they seemed more stylish and comfortable than I expected. I thought, 'I have to try this,' and I got four of them.

First, I let my dog wear the 'pet clothes (sweater)'... and it was surprisingly good! Not only does it fit my dog's body, but the texture and thickness are just right. At a reasonable price of 550 yen, I can use it without worry in muddy mountain paths or after the rain. However, it is somewhat thin, so when it becomes truly cold, an outer layer will be necessary.

The 'pet fluffy scarf' is reassuring even when moving

At the beginning of the walk, the temperature was about 15 degrees, and it was comfortable even in light clothing, but as the sun began to set, it became a bit chilly. So, I put on the 'pet fluffy scarf' around my dog's neck. Previously, when I mentioned to the groomer that my dog gets cold easily, they recommended a scarf. It is said that warming the neck, just like with humans, can help alleviate the cold.

After wearing it for a while, my dog seemed to warm up and became more active! Since the pom-pom part can be secured into a loop, there's no worry of it coming off even when my dog runs around energetically, which is reassuring for me as a pet owner."

I was worried it might be a hindrance, but it doesn't seem to bother my dog surprisingly. My dog has a strong will not to wear a hat under any circumstances, but it seems to not mind the scarf.

If it's "pet clothing," it's nice and warm.

And then, another day. On this day, the temperature was below 10 degrees during the day, resembling the depths of winter. Just wearing a sweater would probably make it shiver. So I put on "pet clothing" over the sweater. Although there is less cotton, it is surprisingly warm when I put my hand inside the clothes.

Since the arm openings are wide, it seems that the movements of its legs are not hindered, allowing for a fun walk. The orange color also serves as a marker for my dog, whose fur color is not very noticeable.

My dog loves nature, so it tends to push through grass like in this photo. When we get home, it often ends up covered in dirt and leaves, but the material has a smooth texture, making it easy to clean. Since it doesn't have waterproofing, I recommend spraying it with a protective spray to prevent dirt.

The "pet hat (lion)" envelops the ears.

"I thought this could be used as a cold weather measure!" so I bought the "Pet Hat (Lion)." It's a cosplay item, but it completely wraps around the whole face, protecting my dog's ears and other areas from the cold wind. However, maybe because it's hard to hear, my dog doesn't turn around when I call his name anymore...
