【Car Care】Check the performance of the "wipe-only raindrop" after coming out of the car wash in the blazing sun

Summer car washes are a battle against the heat. Even if you use a car wash, the final wipe down is essential. This time, for quick care in the blazing sun, I'll try using the "wipe-only raindrop," which allows for wiping and water-repellent coating at the same time! How effective will it be?

Can short care that allows you to wipe and apply a water-repellent treatment at the same time really be done?

I usually washed my car by hand regularly, but in this scorching heat, it's quite tough. Therefore, this time I decided to use the car wash machine at the nearby gas station.
During the operation of the car wash machine, I have to turn off the engine (and air conditioning), so while I feel some heat, it's much easier than washing the car for a long time under the blazing sun. However, the drying and water-repellent care that comes afterward can only be done in the intense heat, which is troublesome.
What I got is Soft 99's "Wipe-on Rain Drop." It's a car care product that allows you to apply a water-repellent coating while wiping, and the package says, "Perfect for car wash machine users!" I've truly discovered the item I was looking for.

By the way, it's super convenient as it can be used not only on the body but also on the glass, but will it really create a rain drop effect just by wiping?

Right after exiting the car wash, I tried wiping with just the Rain Drop

The feel of the Rain Drop before wetting it is similar to chamois leather. You can pull out just the amount you want like wrap, and it can be cut along the perforated line, making it easy to take out without scissors.
Once it's soaked with water and wrung out, you're ready to go! Let's start wiping right away. The relentless sunlight quickly dries the water droplets on the body, leaving marks behind. It's a race against time.
While it doesn't absorb a large amount of water all at once, the absorption power is more than sufficient. I was able to wipe it off quickly. It also brings out a natural shine, making the body beautifully unrecognizable. I tried wiping a bit harder, but there were no scratches.
Here's the cloth after wiping the hood. It has captured more dirt than I imagined. I knew that the car wash wouldn't remove the dirt from detailed areas, but there was still quite a bit of dirt left on the hood. The hood looks shiny after wiping.

While the Rain Drop can also be used on wheels, headlights, and unpainted plastics, it cannot be used on rubber parts like tires and wipers or on interior components, so please be cautious when using it.

And let's check the water-repellent power

Alright, let's check the water-repellent power that I've been curious about. Since I had just wiped it down while sweating, I hesitated to apply water... But I resolved to try spraying water on it again. Then, what do you know, it slid off like it had undergone serious water-repellent treatment.

Speaking of water-repellent treatment, I had the image that it would take effort and time to apply and dry, so this is quite impressive.
Even the body, which has a large surface area, looks great! Water droplets are forming. With this, there should be no need for additional water-repellent treatment. According to the official website, the body remains water-repellent for about 2 months, and the glass for about 1 month. It's a relief to know that the water-repellent effect will last until the next car wash.

The used wipe-only raindrop can be disposed of as it is, making it easy even for a car wash during an outing. If you keep it in the car, you can easily take care of it whenever you feel like it.
