【Workman】Testing the lingering heat! Can the talked-about slim vacuum hybrid container keep things cold?

We tested Workman's "2-liter compatible slim vacuum hybrid container" in a park with an outside temperature of 30°C. We measured the water temperature in three patterns: direct placement of the PET bottle, with and without ice packs, to compare the cold retention.

Is it still hot during the day!? I want my drinks to stay cold

Although a distinctly autumn-like breeze has begun to blow, drinks brought to parks or camps quickly become lukewarm. While it's economical to bring a 2-liter PET bottle, it gets close to room temperature in just an hour.

When a drink that should be cold upon sipping is lukewarm, it can dampen the mood. I have come to feel that the temperature of drinks is surprisingly a major challenge for enjoying time spent outdoors comfortably.

I tried the 2-liter slim vacuum hybrid container

So this time, I took Workman's "2-liter slim vacuum hybrid container" to the park to test it in the lingering heat with an outside temperature of 30℃.

The PET bottle, just taken out of the refrigerator, was at 8℃. I placed it inside the container and measured the water temperature every 30 minutes. The conditions were "no container," "container only," and "container + ice packs."

No container (directly placed)

I took the pet bottle out of the refrigerator and placed it as it was. This serves as a baseline to measure how quickly it warms up in an environment with an outside temperature of 30℃.

Container only (no ice packs)

I placed the pet bottle directly into the container to check how much the influence of the outside air can be prevented. In a sense, this tests the true capability of the container. I used it as a comparison to see how long it could last without any ice packs inside.

Container + with ice packs

I stood the 2-liter pet bottle upright in the container and set two ice packs on top of it. I securely closed the lid to ensure the cold air circulates as much as possible and started the experiment.

The results are as follows

As can be seen from the numbers in the table above, without a container, the temperature rises to 14°C in 30 minutes, and when you open the cap to drink, it is already lukewarm. Without a container, the temperature rises to 21°C after 3 hours.

On the other hand, a container without a cooling agent felt "still cold" in the first few hours, but after exceeding 3 hours, the coldness faded noticeably, reaching 18°C after 6 hours. The moment I held it in my hand, I could feel that the water inside was warming up, and if left for a long time, it would be affected by the outside temperature.

In contrast, the case with a cooling agent maintained a temperature of 8°C even after 6 hours, and when I drank from it, it still felt as cold as just taken out of the refrigerator. The experiment was planned for 6 hours, but since there was hardly any change, I thought, "No way," and measured it again at 10 PM. The reading was 12°C, and the water still felt cold the moment I held it in my hand.

Even without being as exaggerated as a cooler box, the coldness continues.

When the chill lasted until evening, I was able to concentrate on conversations and activities without worrying about drinks. Since I only needed one 2-liter bottle, there was no hassle of carrying a large and heavy cooler box.

To make holidays more fulfilling

In the midst of busy daily work and chores, holiday time is precious. How you spend that limited time also affects how refreshed you feel.

It may be a small detail, but simply having the reassurance that drinks stay cold until the end allows for more relaxed and enjoyable gatherings and activities outdoors. I realized that when I can summarize the essentials without relying on bulky gear, the quality of time itself significantly improves.

What was particularly impressive about this experience was how easily it could be carried over the shoulder. Unlike traditional coolers that obstruct both hands, movement is smooth when going out and coming back.

By adding small ice packs, not only can drinks stay cold, but the effort of carrying them also becomes lighter, making the time spent outdoors feel more comfortable.
