【Night Car Care】Tried to make the concerning scratches less noticeable

When I tried to put the car in the garage at home, I must have been careless and rubbed against the wheel arch mold. I want to take care of it myself, but it's just so hot! So, I tried to see how much I could reduce the visibility using the "unpainted resin black coat" and an LED headlamp during the cooler night.

Using a black coat and an LED headlamp for nighttime care

I had a scrape while driving... I damaged the arch molding around the wheel. It was quite shocking as it was my first experience, but I couldn’t just leave it as it is. The best option would be to replace the molding entirely, but for now, I think I’ll try to repair it myself.
Nonetheless, the daytime heat is still relentless. It’s a harsh environment for doing car care outdoors over time. So this time, I decided to do it after sunset when the temperature drops a bit.

My companion will be the LED headlamp that I regularly use for camping. Since both hands are free, I thought I would be able to work just like during the day, so I took it out from the warehouse.

Starting the repair care with "Unpainted Resin Black Coat"

What I’m using this time is the "Kaimi Polishing School Unpainted Resin Black Coat" that I found at the car shop. It’s a coating agent that gives shine to unpainted resin. The package said "scratches will be concealed," so I made a quick decision when I saw the words I was looking for.

Just how much will this noticeable scratch be covered?

After washing away any dirt and letting it dry in advance, drop the coating agent onto the yellow side of the included sponge and spread it thinly as shown in the image above.
I thought it would be hard to see since I'm applying the coating agent to the black areas... but by shining a headlight on it, the uneven application became much easier to see, and I was surprised! Because it allows for pinpoint illumination, it was actually easier to grasp the finer details than during the day.

Since it's cooler than during the day, being able to take my time with the care might be a big advantage as well.
Finally, once I've wiped it down with the included microfiber cloth, I'm done! At this stage, I could feel that the areas that had turned white from scratches were less visible than before applying the coating.

I wonder how it will look during the day... I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning.

How does the wheel arch mold look the next morning?

And here is the wheel arch mold the next morning. While it’s not completely hidden, it has become considerably less noticeable. This means I might not need to replace it just yet.

The entire mold had turned quite white, so even the undamaged areas look five years younger. I was worried that since I used it at night, it might not have been applied evenly, but surprisingly it turned out quite nicely.
The "unpainted resin black coat" contains UV absorbers, so it will protect against deterioration from ultraviolet rays in the future. It seems the effect lasts for about three months, so it looks like I can keep it in a nice condition for a while.
