It's time to shine in the scorching heat! Can Workman's "Vacuum Insulated Pet Bottle Holder" be used outdoors? Verified with a thermometer

In the midsummer outdoors, can Workman's vacuum insulated pet bottle holder really maintain its coldness? We measured it with a stick thermometer and tracked its cooling power and experience.

How do we solve the "keeping it cool" problem that is essential for outdoor activities?

As we enter this season with more days exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, there are bound to be experiences where you bring cold drinks outside only to find they've warmed up, leaving you disappointed. There are surprisingly many scenarios where "we want to keep things cold," such as outdoor activities, watching sports, and spending time with kids at the park.

In such situations, insulated items become a concern. This time, I’ll try Workman's "500ml exclusive vacuum insulated pet bottle holder." It's a type that simply covers the pet bottle, priced at 980 yen, making it easily accessible. With some skepticism about whether it "really keeps it cold," I tested its effectiveness.

I placed oolong tea in a park over 30°C to check it out.

The experiment was conducted at a residential park. Although there are shaded areas, the airflow is minimal, and the temperature is about 30.1°C. With a humidity of 65%, it feels like the kind of weather that makes you sweat even when standing still.
The bottled drink was well-chilled oolong tea from the refrigerator (initial temperature: about 7°C). I divided this into two bottles, one with the holder and one without, and placed them in the shade of a tree at the park. I measured the temperature every 30 minutes and recorded the perceived changes. Now, what will happen?

Recording the temperature changes

At the start: both at refrigerator level 7.0℃

At the start, both with and without the holder were the same at 7.0℃. The verification began with the bottles just taken out from the refrigerator and well chilled.

After 30 minutes: the one without the holder rapidly rose to 14.0℃

After 30 minutes, the bottle without the holder was already at 14.0℃. It entered the temperature range where it starts to feel lukewarm.
The holder maintained a temperature of 7.0℃.

After 1 hour: The holder remained the same, while the one without rose to 18.0℃.

After 1 hour, the beverage without the holder is at 18.0℃. It approaches room temperature, and it clearly feels "warm" to the touch.
On the other hand, the holder still maintains a temperature of 7.0℃.

After 1 hour and 15 minutes: The holder reached 8.0℃, but that difference is clear.

Although the temperature rose slightly, the beverage with the holder was 8.0℃.
The one without the holder was 19.0℃, and the impression when tasted was almost room temperature water.

1 hour and 45 minutes later: with the holder it was 9.0℃, and without it was 21.0℃.

At the end of the verification, the beverage with the holder maintained a temperature of 9.0℃, which felt cool.
In contrast, the one without the holder reached 21.0℃ and gave the impression of being completely lukewarm.
When viewed as a whole, the effectiveness of the holder is truly outstanding.

My impression after trying it is that it is surprisingly beyond the numbers.

At the 30-minute mark, the tea without a holder had already started to become lukewarm, and I felt a noticeable increase in temperature when I took a sip. Conversely, the tea in the holder remained astonishingly cold. Both the second sip and the third sip felt refreshing as if it had just come out of the refrigerator.

After over an hour, the one without a holder was approaching room temperature, to the level where I thought, "It can't be helped" as I drank it. In contrast, the one with the holder had risen slightly in temperature, but the chill was well-maintained, providing a sufficient coolness for drinking in the heat.
Even after nearly 2 hours had passed, the tea inside the holder remained firmly cold, and each sip made me feel like "It’s still amazing how cold it is." The refreshing sensation at the moment of tasting conveyed the true ability of this holder, more than the thermometer reading.

Conclusion: It can really keep both the numbers and the sensation genuinely cold.

In this verification, it was clearly shown that the "Vacuum Insulated Pet Bottle Holder" functions well, both from the temperature changes and from the coldness felt when actually drinking.

It’s an inexpensive item, but I honestly think it’s quite excellent that it can maintain the temperature to this extent. I realized that it’s overwhelmingly more comfortable for outdoor activities and leisure in the midsummer than just carrying a pet bottle. For those who don't want to be disappointed by lukewarm drinks, this holder seems reliable.
