【Durability Test】What happens after 25 car washes? Water-repellent experiment between Garaco and Rain Monster.

The Galko and Rain Monster hydrophobic glass coating agents that promise to exhibit their effects for a year. If I repeatedly wash the car with these two, will there be any difference in effectiveness? This time, I will check their capabilities by repeatedly performing manual forced glass cleaning as far as my arm muscles allow.

Both have excellent water-repellent effects; is there a difference?

It's mid-May, and the rainy season will soon be upon us in no time. The author, wanting to ride comfortably even on rainy days, wants to apply water-repellent treatment to the glass in advance... If I'm going to do it, I want it to last as long as possible and have strong water-repellency.
So, these two contenders, "Super Garako" and "Rain Monster Strong." Both are water-repellent glass coating agents that claim to last one year. Super Garako uses the latest fluorine treatment (PAT-P), while Rain Monster Strong maintains a strong water-repellent film with high-purity fluorine-modified silicone.
Both come in bottle types that don’t dirty your hands while applying. Spray types are also convenient, but being able to apply it with just one bottle is definitely easier. The size is compact, so many people probably keep it in their car and apply it whenever they want.
After washing the glass and wiping off the moisture, and once it is completely dry, the preparation is complete! For both, apply the liquid and let it sit for about 10 minutes before wiping off with a towel, which wraps up the main tasks. However, Super Garako needs to dry for an additional 12 hours, so the verification had to be carried over to the next day.
After pouring water on the front windshield that was left untouched for a full 24 hours, take a look at this! It feels great with the water beading. I've used various manufacturers' water-repellent glass coatings, but these two brands truly have top-notch performance.

By the way, the right half of the front windshield is coated with Super Glaaco. The left half is coated with Rain Monster Strong.

I drove a bit afterward, and on both sides, the water droplets disappeared without using the wipers. The effect is visibly noticeable, so the water-repellent treatment is enjoyable.

Glass cleaning test, round one

Despite the fact that I've put on Super Glaaco and Rain Monster Strong, I'm going to perform a durability test using the method of washing the glass by hand. Car shampoo is also used in the test.
The left side is Super Glaaco, and the right side is Rain Monster Strong. Both are effectively repelling water and foam. There seems to be a slight difference in how they bead water, but at this point, both feel effective.
Finishing touch by pouring water. The water droplets flow away on the "Rain Monster Strong." However, the water-repellent power of "Super Glaaco" is also holding strong. As the packaging states, it's designed to maintain water-repellent effectiveness for a year, and it seems that the effect does not diminish even after one wash.

Glass cleaning test, the 5th time

The 5th time is just like this. The water-repellent power has hardly changed. It demonstrates excellent water-repellent properties as if it had just been treated.
Through these five tests, it became clear that the water-repellent effect doesn't change as much as expected. Even when compared to the first photo, there's hardly any noticeable difference. Honestly, I thought that differences would become apparent after about 10 glass cleanings, but this seems to be a long battle.

Difference appeared in the 25th test

Washing and rinsing. Repeating washing and rinsing, I began to feel my arm reaching its limit by the 25th time. The lack of regular exercise affects me, and my arm started to tremble. At this point, I even find myself thinking, "I hope the water-repellent power has dropped."
Changes in the shape and size of the water droplets have begun to appear.
Although somewhat modest, the size of the water droplets has decreased compared to when the water-repellent treatment was first applied. Each water droplet was also raised before, but now they have become flattened. However, as they are still sufficiently water-repellent, after a little driving and some airflow, the water droplets seem to disappear.

If anything, "Rain Monster Strong" seems to maintain its water-repellent power even after 25 car washes.

Does washing it forcefully give "Rain Monster Strong" a slight advantage? What will happen over time?

This time, I checked the durability of "Super Garaco" and "Rain Monster Strong". After repeating 25 car washes, it seems that "Rain Monster Strong" is better at maintaining its water-repellent power.

However, in reality, various conditions such as UV rays and dryness must be factored in. Next time, I will check this over some time.

There are many water-repellent products that lose effectiveness after a few washes, but both of these contenders have comparable strength. While it also depends on personal preference, I hope you try both and see for yourself.
