【Local Gourmet】Discovered "YOLO BURGER," open only 2 days a week! I went to try their special chicken burger

Located in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, "YOLO BURGER" is a hamburger shop that only operates on Tuesdays and Fridays. Due to its limited opening days, it is referred to as a "phantom" burger, and when you actually eat it, the taste is surprisingly delicious.

I found a food truck where I could eat chicken burgers near the direct sales place for eggs

On this day, I went to "Old Taste Egg Farm Direct Sales Shop" in Sagamihara City to buy eggs. The sweetness and umami of the eggs are concentrated, making for a very elegant and rich flavor, and I have become a regular customer. When I thought about getting my usual eggs today, I discovered an unfamiliar food truck in the back.

That is the "YOLO BURGER." No wonder it looked unfamiliar! It operates only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Upon closer inspection of the information, it seems they sell burgers made from the meat of hens that have finished laying eggs.

The name "YOLO BURGER" is an abbreviation for "You Only Live Once," representing the idea that "You only live life once." I checked online reviews, and there were high ratings such as "The chicken patty is healthy!" and "The yolk blends well with the teriyaki sauce and is delicious."

By the way, "you can eat it on a pay-as-you-rise basis" refers to discounts for children and students. The regular price for a chicken burger is 700 yen, but the pay-as-you-rise price is only 350 yen.

I often eat hamburgers made with beef patties, but this is my first time trying a "chicken burger" at a shop specializing in original burgers.

I could sense the strong feelings of the creators who don't want to waste the lives of chickens. It was fate that I happened to stop by on a business day today! I decided to buy one right away.
When I ordered, “One, please,” the staff asked me how I wanted the egg cooked. I requested the recommended "soft-boiled" and decided to wait while enjoying the burdock tea I received as a service.

When I glanced to the side, I discovered a cute sign that read, "Can you hear the chickens?" in the building behind. It seems that this food truck is operated by a chicken farmer from the old-style egg farm, and it looks like the chickens live over there.
Before I knew it, the hamburger was ready. The hamburger handed to me was piping hot and larger than I expected. As I took a bite in gratitude for the life, the rich flavor of the patty wrapped in homemade teriyaki-style sauce and mayonnaise spread across my palate. This is even more delicious than beef!
The chicken patty is so soft that it crumbles with just a light bite! You can also feel the rich umami of the soft-boiled egg, creating an exquisite harmony. Honestly, it was the most delicious hamburger I've had in the past few years.
Satisfied with the exquisite hamburger and full, I still wanted to eat the egg over rice that I had been looking forward to. The eggs from the old-style egg farm's direct sales shop don't need soy sauce; the natural flavor of the egg is very rich, and the delicate sweetness and richness of the yolk spread throughout my mouth. The aftertaste is refreshing, and it's mysterious how I could completely finish it even when I was full.

I can confidently say this is the most delicious hamburger I've had in years as well as the exquisite egg over rice. It's worth going to Sagamihara to experience this amazing culinary adventure.
