【Challenge】Can I make "baked sweet potatoes" using Daiso's mess tin and stove?

It's the season for delicious baked sweet potatoes. So, I decided to challenge myself to make authentic baked sweet potatoes using Daiso's mess tin and stove. There's no need to adjust the heat with solid fuel; I want to make it without too much hassle!

I decided to challenge myself to make baked sweet potatoes with 4 items I bought at Daiso

While walking my dog as usual, I began to feel the cold wind even during the daytime, and I craved for warm baked sweet potatoes. I decided that today's snack would be baked sweet potatoes, and I headed to the supermarket to buy some. However...
When I thought about buying my usual baked sweet potatoes, they were out of stock! It seems that they were sold out. I really wanted to eat them, so it was shocking; however, I had a sudden idea.

Speaking of which, I had made baked sweet potatoes before using a mess tin. I hurriedly took some raw sweet potatoes and went straight to the register. I decided to give it a try right away.
The items I prepared to make baked sweet potatoes were these items I bought at Daiso.

・Mess tin (with handle) / 550 yen
・Net for mess tin / 110 yen
・Solid fuel (3 pieces) / 110 yen
・Little stove / 220 yen

The mess tin I used, which is for 1 rice-go, is a bit hard to fit a whole sweet potato, so a larger size like the one for 3 rice-go is recommended.
Place the "net for mess tin" inside the mess tin. This prevents the bottom surface from sticking directly to the mess tin and allows heat to be distributed evenly.

Additionally, this time I also laid out a separate Daiso "fire pit sheet" to protect the table from heat and burns.

Once you light the fire, just wait as it is for a total of 1 hour and 26 minutes

put the sweet potatoes in the mess tin and close the lid. No water or anything else has been added.

After lighting the solid fuel, you just have to wait until the fire goes out. Since I'm using fire, I can't take my eyes off it, but I was able to enjoy a blissful moment looking forward to the baked sweet potatoes while leisurely reading a book.
And, after waiting for 26 minutes, the fire of the solid fuel went out, and the heating was complete. Only one piece of solid fuel was used.

The delicious aroma of baked sweet potatoes is wafting around. Instead of opening the lid right away, the trick is to let it steam! Let's resist and wait a little longer.
After leaving it alone for about an hour after the fire went out, here are the freshly made baked sweet potatoes. When I started cooking, the surroundings were still bright, but it quickly became dark. When I tried inserting a bamboo skewer, it passed through easily without any resistance. It seems to be completely cooked through.<

Taking the time has resulted in a high-level baked sweet potato.

Although it's not quite as syrupy and sticky as the sweet potatoes found at specialty baked sweet potato shops, this high-quality baked sweet potato allows you to enjoy both the natural sweetness of the sweet potato and its fluffy texture. It might be that the time taken to make it contributes to its exceptional flavor.

This time, I challenged myself by using solid fuel in my yard, but it's also easy to make in a camping scene. How about trying your hand at making baked sweet potatoes, a taste of autumn?<
