【Farm Gourmet】I went to try the exquisite sausages from Hattori Farm, recommended by the locals
Hattori Farm is located in Aikawa Town, Aikō-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture. A friend residing in Kanagawa Prefecture recommended that "Hattori Farm’s sausages are exquisite," so I came here while driving. What is the reason for its popularity that locals go out of their way to "come buy"?
About 30 minutes by car from JR (Keio) Hashimoto Station, you can reach a vast natural setting and a farm

A friend residing in Kanagawa Prefecture, known for their gourmet taste, recommended the sausages from Hattori Farm as a must-try. That’s why today I came all the way to Hattori Farm located in Aikawa Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. Coming to a farm just to eat sausages feels like a new kind of experience.

Looking at the official website, it turns out that this farm boasts the largest scale in Kanagawa Prefecture. They raise about 50 animals, including Holstein and Jersey dairy cows, horses, and sheep.
Since it's a combination of a production farm and a tourist farm, you can observe the animals up close.

Is this really Kanagawa...? The nature is so vast that it makes you wonder. It’s accessible by car in about 30 minutes from Hashimoto Station, but the mountains spread around Hattori Farm, and just gazing at this scenery can refresh you. It truly feels like a trip.
Since it's a farm, there are encounters with cows and sheep

When you think of a farm, images of cows come to mind. I wanted to see them up close, but when I actually saw them, they were much larger than I imagined! And they’re so close, too close. Standing right by the fence, you can hear the cows breathing.

As I walked further, I discovered what appeared to be a pony. I found a small horse. The cows earlier were very imposing, but this one is cute and comforting.

Additionally, nearby, there were many sheep grazing. Since children were feeding them, I was also able to observe the sheep up close. The feed for the sheep and goats can be purchased at the "Ice Workshop Casalinga."
The highly anticipated sausages are made by a chef who trained in Germany

Having enjoyed the company of the animals, I headed to my original destination. I went to "Sausage Workshop Metzgerei Hattori," which my friend highly recommended.

It seems that a chef trained in Germany sells handmade sausages made with natural sheep casings. I was surprised at how authentic it was, beyond my expectations. Not only can you buy them as souvenirs, but takeout is also available, and there were terrace seats near the sausage workshop.

There are several types of sausages, and this time I purchased the "Kinuhiki Sausage," which was indicated as number one in popularity at the ticket vending machine. I received it freshly boiled and steaming hot. There was ketchup available, but I wanted to savor the original taste, so I decided to try it without adding anything.
After taking a bite, I couldn't help but say "delicious." The skin is crispy, and the inside is surprisingly soft. Yet, it has a meaty richness, and the quality is truly impressive. Perhaps it's because it's a farm that you can enjoy sausages of this level.

There’s also an ice cream workshop using milk from Hattori Farm

After satisfying my hunger, I stopped by “Ice Workshop Casalinga." Since I had eaten something savory, I started craving something sweet. On that day, the temperature was high, and many people were enjoying ice cream inside Hattori Farm.
My friend, who recommended the sausages, said they have tried both gelato and soft serve, but they recommend the soft serve!
